Take care. I won't be here much either.

I normally end up getting sucked into more competitive style aspects of games, as they're more often where I have a lot of fun when other aspects dip.

BlazBlue and Soul Calibur, both obviously fighters which rely a lot on their competitive sides, I've had a lot of fun playing against other people. I guess I was fairly more interested and competitive with BlazBlue, though, as the Soul Calibur online crowd is fairly... radical. They're either incredibly good, or fairly horrible. I was mostly active with Bang in the original and the first version of Continuum Shift, and had a good amount of fun, though I'd get a good bit of complaints (mostly from a friend) about his speed and power, or something stupid, and it sort of watered down my desire to use him. For some reason, it just watered down the experience, hearing that he was overpowered, or whatever. I'm not really sure why. I guess I'm used to using either joke/gimmick characters or boss characters, so it was kind of weird that outside opinion affected me at all.

Guilty Gear's pretty fun, but it was never something I really got into. I'd use either Testament, Zappa, or Robo-Ky, and... well, they're not very difficult to use, as far as I can tell. Of course, I wasn't very good at the game, so, I'm not sure. I never got the hang of Roman Cancelling, or whatever.

When I played World of Warcraft, mainly in the Burning Crusader era, I was fairly active and accomplished and battlegrounds, and had some fun in Arenas, although Balance Druids were, at that time, not very easy to find partners for. Either way, it was certainly fun invisibly stalking members of the Horde and then pouncing out in Moonkin form to call down from Great Elune some big ol' skybolts.

Umm. Aside that, I enjoy co-operative games a lot, and get "competitive" in them, in a sense. It's a lot of fun being able to help out and work in a team (usually), so games that give me that opportunity are pretty damn enjoyable. I guess those are mainly MMORPGs, though. Blargh. Well, I'm really looking forward to Dragon's Crown!

Oh, also, I've recently found out that I'm a good bit better than most of my friends at a game I don't touch—Call of Duty, so... you know... I've got a new shame.

      Let's see here....

      • Anarchy Reigns (Multiplayer stuff)
      • Atelier Totori
      • Atelier Meruru
      • Bayonetta
      • Brutal Legend
      • Journey (and Flow)
      • NieR
      • Pokemon White 2
      • Resonance of Fate
      • Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed
      • Tokyo Jungle
      • White Knight Chronicles II
      • Zone of the Enders 1 & 2 HD

So, you know... only about $550 worth of games, and I'm sure I'm forgetting quite a few. Maybe I should stop replaying Demon's and Dark Souls.

I'm the kind of pervert who tries to answer sex questions even though he's a virgin.

I haven't really drawn in a long time. I should get back on that. It's actually a fairly productive hobby, and one that practice visually improves. Here, have a Sheep Man.

I can't imagine it would be all too different from that time a dragon dildo broke off in your asshole.

A game stops being fun when it stops being fun for you. There are a lot of preferences in the world, and those preferences can cause something you fully enjoy to be completely grating to someone else. Some preferences even change; I know quite a few people who can no longer stand the "wait" of turn-based combat. As for me, generally when things are poorly designed or implemented although they can obviously be done in more interesting ways that fit more with the feel of a game, that sort of nonsense siphons fun from me. Mmm. Pointless usage of systems, too; like when a game tries to have required-strategy victory means, but just ends up being an abusable mess.

As for stress! Well, I guess that falls on how stubborn one might be about certain things. Of course, there are also things implemented into games that are sheerly broken. One of the major things that comes to mind, is when a developer implements a pattern or specific mission that requires a very particular mindset and specific methods. Some sort of playchain that is easy for the designer to think up, execute, and blindly complete, but is relatively batshit stupid or incomprehensible to anyone outside of that one mental ring.
