I think Twitter can last about 15-20 minutes before it burns out, but give it 45 minutes to an hour refractory period and then it'll be good to go again.

Seriously, though, I wouldn’t be dumb enough to say that Twitter is here to stay. We’ve all seen Friendster replaced by MySpace challenged by FaceBook and then Twitter... Social networking sites are the fad, the phenomenon of communication through them is what is enduring. I think that instant communication of large groups of people through text and instant message will be here for the the longterm. Twitter will last only until someone develops a better UI or UX.

I don't really fear anything. I know that sounds kind of cocky, but it's just an attitude that I've developed through life and therapy. That is not to say that I don’t experience anxiety at times, but those mostly concern larger lifetime issues, like income, retirement, death, etc.

From life, I’ve learned that if I'm afraid of something, I generally like to face and embrace it head-on. I used to be afraid of heights; I took up rock-climbing. Solved. Used to be afraid of deep water; did some snorkeling (although I really want to get SCUBA certified). You can kind of see where this is going.

From therapy got the concept of the Wise Mind (http://tinyurl.com/yrgh74). Specifically, this quote: “Wise Mind is confident. Self-confidence is knowing you can handle whatever problems in life comes along. When Wise Mind becomes clear, fear disappears. Wise Mind knows you are doing the best you can under the circumstances. When you skillfully approach your problems that are causing misery and distress, you are in Wise Mind and doing the best you can."

Most people would say Stan Lee or Jack Kirby. Not me. While I have respect for those two giants in the field, I feel that they are perhaps the best among equals when it comes to their contemporaries.

No, for Patron Saint I definitely have to throw my hat in the ring for Will Eisner. He truly represents the heart blood of comics in his devotion to the craft, passing down wisdom, and defining the structure and techniques of graphic storytelling.

I'm actually pretty happy in Los Angeles. I love travel and appreciate every city I've been to on its own merits, but my roots are here. That said, I would like to live in another city and/or country at some point in my like. If I uprooted myself, I think I would have to move out of the country for it to be meaningful. And it wold most likely be permanent. The shortlist would be (and I'm limiting myself to places that I have actually visited): Vancouver, CA; Paris, FR; or Lucerne, CH

I know my Australian friends will find this a stretch to believe, but the Koala.

I grew up with 2 siblings, so one of the things that our parents found would cut down [not by much] on the fighting was to have every kid choose their specific 'thing' and that would be special to them. As an example, before we went on a family trip to Europe, each kid had to pick one country we would be visiting and do a report on it to present to the family. (Naturally, I chose Scotland).

Likewise, we each picked our favorite animal and it became a sort of totem for us growing up. It was an easy stuffed animal fallback gift. My sister's was a rabbit, my brother's the beaver, and I chose Koalas.

I don' really know. I asked my father and he said that, yes, my parents did have my IQ tested when I was a kid (There is no significant change in IQ over time) but he couldn't remember. Now you have me insanely curious about it so I'll have to go dig the papers up from his house.

      Why do you ask?

I've never thrown out, sold or given away any since I started collecting in 1977 so... I've never counted them all, but at a rough estimate based on the number of boxes and the amount that they hold: Between 40,000 and 50,000

Is it bad that I can't think of anything? I have regrets like anyone, but i try not to dwell on them, just use them as cautionary tales not to be repeated. I have projects that i don't consider dead yet and future projects that I hope to complete. There are design projects that I never completed but those were client/business decisions and par for the course. Most of my regrets involve situations, events or people, not things.

The only thing that comes to mind is that I wanted to and never did start a nightclub in the late 90's, but it never really got out of the "talking about it" phase.

This is probably so esoteric as to be insignificant, but i would love to make John Barth's "The Floating Opera" into a film. Written when John Barth was 24, "The Floating Opera" is a first-person reminiscence of the day in 1937 when the protagonist and narrator Todd Andrews decided to commit suicide and then decided not to. It is my favorite book.

As for the lead actor, hmmm... I would probably cast Dominic West. The book is set in Baltimore, Maryland and West understand the area and accent from his stint on The Wire. Also, the main character is charming and he has that in spades. As an alternative, I could see Simon Baker in the role.

I've had a lot of best days. Most of them occur when I'm traveling, generally in other countries. I can't name just one, so I'll just mention three real quick:

1988 - On a high school travel abroad trip in Lucerne, Switzerland. Four of us bought a bottle of wine, loaf of fresh-baked bread and rented two pedal boats. We pedaled out to the middle of the Lake of Lucerne, hooked our legs over the sides of each other's boats and just floated and drank and ate for hours.

1999 - Passed a day sitting in the winter sun on the patio of a pub in Pucon, Chile sharing a pitcher with a wonderful woman who i had met only a week earlier. We talked away the afternoon in Spanish under the shadow of the live and smoking volcano at whose base the town sits. (The volcano mount actually has a ski resort where we'd been snowboarding the day before.)

2003 - I spent 2 weeks in Paris and London, respectively. On one day in London, I woke early and left my friends at the hotel. I spent a solid 10-hour day wandering around the city in the overcast and occasional rain. Traveled the length of Hyde Park. Went to museums. Looked around Harrods. A close second would be the day I did the same thing a week later in Paris.

Orange or green depending on mood. When I was younger I used to be all about the black or red, but, c'mon, that's really all just about teen angst, isn't it?

    12. Scott Ludwig

Depending on the amount I've had to eat beforehand, the amount of pour in the drink, how quickly I drink them, etc., anywhere from 2-5 drinks. I prefer liquor to beer, so I try (poorly) to minimize the quantity.

    13. Scott Ludwig

You, of course. This is Ram we're talking about. (Love you, Ram!)

    14. Scott Ludwig

No. I don't believe in Fate, predestination or any kind of set path for our lives. Mankind exists with no a priori knowledge. Since I was 15yrs old I've subscribed to the philosophy that we create our lives and our purpose through our own actions. As a result, we are duty bound to take responsibility for those actions. Within that framework, however, you can see patterns of cause and effect that could easily be called "karma."

Not a big candy guy. I guess, if pressed, I'd have to say Almond Roca.

    16. Scott Ludwig

I could just say "42", but that's a cop out. I think the meaning of life comes down to finding the balance between existing yourself as an individual with yourself as a member of society. Once you have that comfort level, then it's about surrounding yourself with people that challenge and love you. Lastly, and probably most important, to do something generative with your life; writing, painting, building, creating in some way. Don't confuse that with having a job or career. It can be done on your own time and not for money, fame or any of those trappings. Curiosity, ingenuity and creativity is what gives us our humanity.

    17. Scott Ludwig

Sadly, know. Not as long as there is religion in the world. Any philosophy whose core principals involve the elevation of one group of individuals over another is inherently divisive. Politics can find compromise. Social theories can find compromise. Economics can find compromise. Faith cannot be compromised.

Farscape. Hands down. It's not the greatest show, I know. In fact, I'm not sure that it would even make my top 5 or 10 best shows from TV (Lord knows, I could point out several faults off the top of my head), but it has a certain fondness for me.

In my teens and 20s, definitely. Along with skinny dipping a lot as well. Nudity has never really been an issue for me beyond aesthetics.
