Triggering is like triggering feelings. So for example, if you see a picture of someone's cuts, that might trigger you to do it yourself. Or another type of trigger can be what people say to you, ie if someone said something really horrible to you, that might trigger you to hurt yourself.
      You wouldn't have looked stupid!

Bipolar disorder is a medical condition. It's where the person goes through really down and depressed periods, then they go through manic periods where they're really hyper. It's a bit like experiencing the extremes- very depressed and manic hyper!
Again, I'm not a doctor, so this might not be the exact medical definition!

    4. Help Stop Self Harm

This is my view on it, the technical medical definitions may be different, so if I'm wrong then I apologise!
First of all there's anorexia. Anorexia is where someone stops eating, or where they eat considerably less because they think they want to lose weight. Often anorexia may just start off as a way to get thin, but then the person may become just scared of eating and eating in front of people or whatever, so they stop eating completely! Over time it makes the person very thin and weak, and you can die from it cos it's so dangerous!
Then there's bulimia. Bulimia is where someone doesn't eat, but then they binge on loads of food. Then they feel guilty for eating so much and make themselves throw up. Bulimia is really really bad for the body, it ruins the person's insides, and again you can die from it.
I also class just throwing up your meals deliberately (purging) as bulimia too, although I don't think this is the correct medical definition from it. I suffered from just throwing up my food, I didn't actually binge, but people on twitter said that's bulimia too, so it's just opinion I think.
There's probably other types, but these are the main ones I think!
Eating disorders can be soooooooo dangerous, so please try and stop if you suffer from one!

You are NOT a mistake, I promise! You are beautiful! Everyone makes mistakes. I screw up and do things I regret every single day of my life. But it doesn't matter, because as long as I LEARN from my mistakes, they can help me become a better person! Also, as long as I apologise to God for screwing up, he forgives me because Jesus DIED for the times when we screw up! Stay strong, and learn from your mistakes and you'll be brilliant :)

Hey, so 4 years is quite a long time. I don't think you'd need to be committed, maybe if they did find out then you could compromise and just get some counselling if they are really pushing you? To stop self harm, you need to find the root problem of what makes you want to self harm and solve this. But that could take a while, obviously, so in the mean time, try to find distractions. This could be a new hobby that gets you out of the house, which is always good to keep you busy to stop you thinking about it. When you actually want to self harm, go for a run, listen to some chill music or go for a run. Alternatives to self harm could be squeezing ice cubes for the pain, drawing red lines on your place(s) of self harm for the sight of blood, and exercising/eating a chilli/eating chocolate for the endorphins. You could also try the butterfly project or the 15 minute rule! You're always very welcome to DM/e-mail (etc) me if you want to talk! Good luck and stay strong :)

First of all, well done for not hurting yourself, that's really good:)
I used to feel like that all the time. But keeping yourself busy usually does the trick. So when you wake up, do something straight away. Don't lie in bed, however relaxing it is, get up and do something to take your mind off it. It's always good to start a new hobby, but if it's first thing in the morning, then maybe go for a run as soon as you've woken up? Then get in the shower and get dressed, and start your day? It will be good because it will help you to clear your head, then you'll feel fresher and more awake for the day, which will hopefully make you feel less depressed.
      Stay strong beautiful

Heey, so well done for holding on for 3 weeks, that's really good!! It's good that you want to stop, that's the first step:) You ARE good enough, I promise, you're beautiful, and it doesn't matter what the haters say about you because their words mean nothing, YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL! Something that used to help me was I'd try and beat my last record. So say that 3 weeks of not self harming is your record, try and hold on for 4 weeks? You need to find a distraction when you actually want to self harm, like calling up a friend, going for a run or listening to some relaxing music. To get pain, squeeze ice cubes, to get the sight of blood, draw red lines on your place(s) of self harm, and to get endorphins (feel good hormones released when you self harm-what you get addicted to) exercise or eat chocolate. The 15 minute rule and butterfly project could also be helpful:) good luck, hope I've helped:)

    16. Help Stop Self Harm

Hey. Well firstly, well done on stopping for a bit, that's really good:) I think most self harmers relapse, and that's nothing to worry about! You need to find out what's making you feel sad cos that's what's triggering your self harm. But that could take a while to fix so in the meantime you need to find a distraction. That could be a new hobby or something to keep you busy and out of the house! When you actually want to self harm, go for a run, listen to some relaxing music or call up a friend! To get pain, squeeze ice cubes, to get the sight of blood, draw red lines on your place(s) of self harm, and to get endorphins (the feel good hormone released in your body when you self harm), exercise or eat some chocolate. You could also try the butterfly project or the 15 minute rule. Good luck, and I'm always here if you need any more advice:)

Heey! Well self harm is very broad! Any type of harm to yourself is classed as self harm, but I wouldn't worry what it's classed as! Instead focus on how you're going to solve it, and what you can do about the root problems that are making you want to do this to yourself!! <3

    19. Help Stop Self Harm

First of all, you need to understand WHY you self harm. If there are underlying problems that make you want to do it! But these could take a while to solve, so in the mean time, you need a distraction. When you want to self harm, go for a run, call up a friend or listen to some relaxing music! Draw red lines on your place(s) of self harm to get the sight of blood, squeeze ice cubes to get pain, and exercise or eat chocolate to get endorphins! Or try the butterfly project, it works for a lot of people!! Good luck and stay strong!:)

    20. Help Stop Self Harm

Of course you'll be able to stop self harming! Nothing is impossible! I know it's hard, but you CAN do it! Well if it's your depression that's causing the problem, then you'll need to solve that problem, or if it's something that's causing your depression then you need to sort that as well. But in the meantime while you're sorting that out, find a distraction. When you feel the need to s/h, find a distraction, go for a run, call up a friend or listen to some relaxing music. To get pain, squeeze ice cubes, to get the sight of blood, draw red lines in your place(s) of self harm, and to get endorphins (the feel good hormones that are released when you self harm that most people get 'addicted' to) eat some chocolate or exercise. You could also try the butterfly project http://www.recoveryourlife.com/index.php?categoryid=148 or the 15 minute rule. You definitely CAN stop, so stay strong and hang in there, you're beautiful:)
