What made you decide to go to such a conservative school, if you aren't conservative yourself? Or have your ideas changed since you began attending your university?
I actually wasn't told the school was conservative at all. They touted their PRIDE (LGBT group) group and all other things to me. It's private, so it's associated with a church, but they assured me the majority of the population wasn't religious.
The main thing isn't the students. It's the administration. I am in a relationship with one of the professors and although there is nothing in the school's policy forbidding this, we have been repeatedly harassed to the point where we both decline to even comment if we are together or not. His fourth year evaluation was coming up this year and they basically invited him to leave, which is fine as he no longer wants to stay anyway now that he sees how the university actually is. My university is very, very, very good at selling themselves to prospective students and sometimes they tell flat out lies. I obviously didn't know this when I started going here.
I don't hate the school or wish I'd never gone because I met my current partner here and love him very much, but will be glad when we will be leaving in the Spring for better places.
I hope this answers your question.
