We're hard at work on that and trying to figure out how to accommodate it. For the time being, we figured the new construction was the most worth seeing. Plus, that view will be extra great once the new Student Center is completed.
But all good thoughts! We'll see what we can do about getting some scenic views in there. : ) -
Sure is! It's our hope to have it up some time next month and hoping to have it partially track the progress on the Quad Commons project, as well.

We'll be sure to pass this along to facilities! Sorry it's hot in there at present.

Dear Someone-
We try our best to answer all questions as accurately as possible. However, very often we have to go in search of the answers (sadly, Saint Mike's doesn't have its own proprietary Wikipedia with all this kind of info readily listed) and we can only relay the answers we get, in turn. Policies do change and sometimes misinformation does sneak in.
But we appreciate you keeping tabs on those discrepancies and pointing them out. It's very helpful for us. We have an excellent journalism program here at Saint Mike's that it sounds like you'd be well-suited for.
Also, our website is an excellent source of information. www.smcvt.edu And if it doesn't have the exact answer to your question, it can usually direct you to the person or number to contact to get it answered (as we also try to do whenever we don't fully know the answer).
Apologies again if we've confused or misinformed at all. -
Upper-class students move in this Saturday or Sunday and they can pick their keys up right in the Alliot lobby between 10-3 Hope that helps and can't wait to have you back!

Of course! Those decks are the best, especially in the fall. One of the many perks of living up north. Just remember fire codes and such (aka no grilling).

Room cost will vary depending on the student's particular situation. Generally speaking, it does cost slightly more to live in a single. But if you would like specific costs, best to get in touch with one of these fine folks and they can answer directly: http://www.smcvt.edu/On-Campus/Housing-and-Dining/Living-at-St-Mikes/Residence-Life-Staff.aspx

You should receive them in your first-year housing packet. They are typically four numbers long. But if you can't seem to find them, you can always contact Allison Close, aclose@smcvt.edu, and she can let you know!

You are absolutely allowed to; the catch is they might not work. Most of the walls are concrete, so you can't get thumbtacks into them (or if you do, they won't stay). The best thing to use is either the putty you can put on the back of posters or "command strips," both of which seem to work well in the residence halls.

Typically held in Ross Sports Center, with a procession of graduates/faculty from the Alliot/Chapel area beforehand.

There is! We checked with the coordinator and he said they will likely be sending out notifications emails sometime early next week. Keep your eyes peeled!

Hi there! This is straight from the brilliant folks in IT: It's not typically reset every year. It was done this year, however, because we have synched the KnightVision accounts with the Mikenet accounts to make way for the Portal. We will be launching mySMC, the Portal where students can log-in using only one password and getting access to their SMC e-mail, eCollege, KnightVision, and other resources. If current students (2013-2015) try using their Mikenet information, it should get them into their account. If it doesn't recognize their credentials, they can give us a call at 802-654-2020 and we can assist them in resetting their password. If there are any more questions, feel free to ask!

Absolutely! You might want to check with your future roommate and coordinate that. Sometimes students will wait until they move in and then go and purchase one together (good for splitting the cost). And it gives them a chance to check out the size of their rooms and what will fit, too.

Roommate selections were sent out earlier this week via snail mail, and then on Friday via email. If you have not received yours yet, feel free to contact Res Life for assistance.
-
Good question. Chances are that if the roommate assignment line at the bottom of the sheet is blank, you are living in a single. But if you want to be absolutely sure of that, you can always call Res Life and they can tell you for sure. : )

Hi there! You should hear back by the end of July with your results. Also keep in mind that if your test results match up with whatever foreign language level you registered for, you may not receive notice. But if, for example, you registered for Spanish 101 and then aced the proficiency test, you might get a note from the Registrar suggesting a section change. Hope that helps!

They do, indeed! Both Ethan Allen and Hodson have in-suite kitchens, which typically include a fridge and a microwave (and a sink and such). The furniture is standardized and will be provided for common areas.

A quick poll seems to be pretty split. A lot of us in the office have Verizon and have never had any problems (and if you're a skiier, Verizon's pretty good on all the mountains). But several students responded to say they have AT&T and they love it. Hope that's helpful?
