Try to ask him/her out and discuss the problem. Find out what exactly happen that made him/her left you. Is it your fault or things just wouldn't work out? It's best to talk face to face and understand and solve the situation at the same time. I'm sure you wouldn't wanna just let him/her leave without knowing the reason since he/she is your loved one.
