Old enough to know but still young enough not to care ;-)
Age is a rather nebulous concept. In my mind I am still 18. On the other hand my wife will tell you that I'm 12. And if I were to follow advise from the Who then I would have to "Hope I die before I get old."
But I think Bob Dylan's "May Back Pages" line says it best:
"Ah, but I was so much older then/I'm younger than that now"
I'm truly able to understand, relate and apeal to audiences of all ages.
Thanks for another great question.

Thanks for the interesting question. You are a little off-topic but that’s O.K.
As I understand it, Maraschino is a bittersweet, clear liqueur flavored with Marasca cherries, which are grown in Dalmatia, Croatia. The liqueur's distinctive flavor comes from the Marasca cherries, and the crushed cherry pits lend an almond-like flavor to Maraschino. The distillate is allowed to mature for two years in Finnish ashwood vats and is then diluted and sugared.
Crickets are indeed edible. However, I have not heard of them being marinated in Maraschino before – at least not commercially. On the other hand, chocolate covered crickets are popular amongst bug-eaters. Are you one? Here is a link to one vendor selling gourmet chocolate covered crickets: http://www.candywarehouse.com/crickets.html
As for weddings, whether they are chocolate covered or pickled in Maraschino, I don’t see crickets overtaking the traditional candied almonds on wedding reception tables anytime soon.
Now, what I do see at your wedding is serving a custom cocktail that you could call “The Maraschino Cricket.” Try this combination of ingredients:
• ½ cup Crushed Ice
• ½ cup Lime Sorbet
• 1 Oz. Maraschino Liqueur
• 1½ Oz. frozen Premium Vodka (I personally like Reyka Vodka from Iceland myself & you should always store Vodka in the freezer – It’s the best way to keep and serve it – frozen. Besides, you never know when Rhoda and Pincus will be stopping by for a few shots – but that’s a story for another day)
• 1-2 drops green food coloring (because the lime sorbet is most likely going to be white but you want this cocktail to be green – like a cricket)
• Combine all ingredients together in a blender until the consistency of a Slushie.
• Now stir in 4 ounces of Sprite Soda. Be gentle, you want to loosen up the frozen concoction without flattening out the soda. As you know, crickets are “hoppy” critters and you want some spring in this drink to reflect that character.
• Pour the mixture into 2-4 Martini glasses (depending on the size of the glass)
• Finally, garnish with a lime slice and of course a Maraschino cherry
And there you have it . . . the “Maraschino Cricket.”
Aren’t you glad you asked?
Give this a try and feel free to adjust the ingredients to your personal taste. If everyone loves it tell them you got it by “Asking the Entertainment Expert of Raleigh Event DJ.” And if everyone hates it, tell them you got it from some other DJ company.
LOL Just KIDDING!
But seriously, each wedding couple is unique and each wedding has its own unique style and “flavor.” Why not make yours unique with a signature cocktail made special for that day. And 25 years down the road, you, your friends and your family will all still be drinking your special drink and recalling the first time they tasted that delicious treat – on your wedding day.
Enjoy and thanks for asking, Brad. -
Well thank you for asking. Those are great questions and wow, what an even greater idea. No, we haven't had the opportunity to perform a 'Tim Burton' night as of yet. But if you say "Beetlejuice" 3 times, I will magically appear in your living room and we can discuss the possibilities for your next event.
At Raleigh Event DJ we're all about customer satisfaction and throwing great events -- whatever theme or form they may be. We're ready to help our clients set the mood with music that's paired to their event theme like fine wine is paired to culinary delights.
In answer your second question, let's just say we'd like to do more themed events. Until now, our customer's needs & wants have stayed pretty much on the conservative side of the event spectrum. But now that you've asked, maybe that's a sign that our future customers will want to explore the versatility of our artistic creativity. After all, those who know me can certainly attest to my "active imagination" and my ability to use a "can-do" attitude to transform concept into reality. As well I will say also that each customer is unique. So in essence, every event we perform is "themed" in some way.
On a lighter note: I used to work with a gentleman named Barrie Burton many years ago. I believe his barber was Edward Scissorhands. But that's a story for another day.
Thanks again for your questions. But I have to ask: "Tim, don't you already get enough publicity from your own success and notoriety with: Pee Wee's Big Adventure, Batman Returns, Sleepy Hollow, Planet of the Apes, Sweeney Todd and Now Alice in Wonderland to be coming here trying to promote yourself using RaleighEventDJ as a springboard? call me, we'll do lunch."
Thanks again. Great questions. Feel free to ask more. -
Who has time for retirement? Honestly, like Social Security I do not expect to see retirement (or be able to afford it).
-
I have many favorites: Boston, Raleigh, Las Vegas, Pemaquid, Newport Beach -- just to name a few.
-
I believe God has put each of us here for a purpose. What that purpose is and what God has planned is not for us to know other than it is for good and that we are not here to fail.
