What are your thoughts on buying used cds? On one hand, you are buying the physical product rather than illegally downloading it, but on the other hand that money isn't going to the artist? On a 3rd hand, buying used could also support indie record stores
You pretty much covered my thoughts on the issue. I see it as supporting the record store but not the artist. Hence why it's usually where I go for major label releases or CDs that aren't readily available anymore (Dial-7, For an embarrassing example).
However, I can honestly say I don't get to record stores very much anymore. Most of my purchasing of new music is online (physical and digital). Though I still like to crawl through the racks/bins if I have a few hours.
