Add '-aid' to the last word in your sentence and you'll have your answer. I drink a lot of the black cherry.

I'm not very familiar with consumer cameras so I can't really vouch for their quality. The only two point and shoots that I have heard stellar reviews of are the Canon G10 and the Canon G11.

They are selling on ebay (both new and used) from between $350- $450. If you're patient enough I'm sure you can snag one for around $350. A little pricey for a consumer camera, but spending a little bit more can be the difference between having a great camera and a paperweight. Always make sure the seller has an impeccable rating though if buying from ebay.

      Potography? Pot-o-graphy? Sounds kiln-y.

Photography is a multi-million dollar industry, probably muli-billion dollar, but anyone who thinks they can dip their proverbial ladle into that pot by simply buying a piece of equipment, whether a $5000 Canon 1D or a $500 Digital Rebel, is sorely mistaken. Off the top of my head I can think of a few things that will be required. It takes good marketing, good people skills, good money management, good time management, experience, a constant inflow of ideas, constant practice, editing skills, post processing skills, understanding lighting, understanding exposure, understanding the composition rules, understanding when to break them, understanding which pieces of equipment you should be using and why, knowing which avenue of photography to go down, knowing how to bid for a job, a temperament that can pick itself back up from repeated failures and frustrations...and nunchuck skills.

And yes - I realize that question was probably sarcastic, but I felt like answering it OK? Yeeesh.

Well, I just finished up a couple of books actually.

Technically 'Romans' was the last book I read. the Apostle Paul's concise yet enormous theological treatise to the Italian Christians in the first century. I recommend it to everyone. I think there are free audio versions of it online.

I also just finished 'The Rape of Nanking' by the recently deceased Iris Chang. It's a horrific account of the war atrocities committed against the Chinese in the Shino-Japanese War. Some have called the crimes 'the forgotten holocaust'.

Along similar depraved lines I have also read 'Not For Sale' by David Batstone. It's a book about modern day slavery across the globe and the brave individuals and organizations that are fighting it. Disgusting and inspiring.

And I'm currently re-reading the 'Space Trilogy' by C.S. Lewis, along with 'The Jesus I Never Knew' by Phillip Yancey.

      Great Question!

Loads. Here's the short list of people who i've been diggin' on lately.

      - Zach Arias (Atlanta - Music)
      - Todd Laffler (New Jersey - Wedding)
      - Jeremy Cowart (Nashville - Music/commercial)
      - Michelle Moore (Seattle - Senior/Fashion)
      - David Jackson (Appleton WI - Senior/Wedding)
      - Tony Hoffer (Philly - Wedding)
      - Sam Hassas (San Jose - Wedding)
      - Jay Eads (Senior/Music)

There are a lot more as well - and I would be remiss if I didn't include classics like Avedon, Rowell, Adams, and Erwit.

Since I know this question came from you, honey, I'm going to go ahead and say the answer you expect: my wife. Not that I wouldn't if someone else asked me the question. =)

I also have a group of close knit friends who still like me despite all my flaws. Like C.S. Lewis said of his friendship with Arthur Greeves "I learned charity from him and failed, for all my efforts, to teach him arrogance in return."

Shoot, shoot, shoot! Don’t be afraid to fail. Work on your people skills and interacting with the client. It’s just as important as the technical aspects. Study other photographer’s work and try and to reverse engineer it. Don’t get sucked into any fads, just work on your lighting. Try and be as original as possible. Use socially networking sites for the bulk of your marketing. Find good photographers to support you and bounce ideas off of.

Anne Murray I suppose. I played in her backing orchestra when she came through our fair city. Other than her I can't really remember meeting anyone uber(or even semi)famous. #Lame?
