I used to love those, but I don't read them much anymore. It's still nice to have brain-candy books like those every once in a while, though :)
-
Nah, my life is so not interesting enough.

I wouldn't give away a book personalized to me - it just seems important somehow, and I don't think I'd be able to give it away. As for owning a book personalized to someone else, I think that'd be a little weird, but I don't think I'd mind, really.

Honestly? I'm easy in that way; if it's contemporary YA, I'll almost always want to read it. But one thing that'll make me go "no, thanks" is if it sounds too tween-y, to high school drama-y.

I've only been to one signing, and it was ages ago, so I'm not the best to ask. But that signing was cool - the author read from her upcoming book, and then we all stood in line with the books we wanted her to sign. I got to talk to her one on one for like a few seconds, when she asked what I wanted her to sign, so not really :p It was a really big signing, though, so it might be different for a smaller one.

You find the review copies under the Review Copies tab (you can only see it if you're logged in). In the general info, I have everything I have in my NetGalley bio too, and then I add why I'm interested in reading this particular book. It's kind of weird and a little hard to get used to, but I love it now. Let me know if you have any more specific questions :)

I'm actually feeling like that right now, and I have no idea. *goes to read everyone else's responses.*

Yeah, I've been doing that for the last few months or so! At first, that sounded like a stupid idea and a waste of time, but I'm really liking it now. For some reason, it just comes easier when I write by hand.

I read a lot of reviews, just on bogs I follow, and on Goodreads (I always read most of my GR friends' reviews of a book after I'm done writing my own review). I suck at commenting, though - I really only have a few blogs I comment on regularly.
-
I've opted out of doing a review for a blog tour because I didn't like the book, so I just posted the review outside the blog tour. Just a normal promotional post, though, no.
-
Yeah, it goes into your stats of how many of the books you get you end up reviewing. I don't think not reviewing one book will make a difference, but if you don't review a lot of them, it'll probably make the pub not approve you again and approve someone who's more likely to review the book instead.
-
I've heard that people do that and just tell them about their blog and stats and what kinds of books they review. But I personally would feel uncomfortable doing that; I'd just email asking for one ARC, and maybe, if the publisher likes you, you'll end up getting some more.

Ehh, I don't really tend to read them, to be honest. Only very rarely, if the blogger is making some kind of point that's hard to explain about someone's writing but easy to understand if you read a few sentences in the author's style. But most of the time, I just skip over them

I'm doing really well! I've finished all but one :D
-
Hmm. I keep both, too, and I like to keep both. But if you only want to do one (which I totally get - so much work!), I think I'd go with author.
-
Nothing, to be honest. *Googles*

I personally don't think I'd take part because fairy tales just aren't my thing, but I'm sure lots of people would be interested - sounds fun! :)
-
Oh, so many things! Aside from the stuff I'd like to know about how to get a job in publishing, etc., since that's what I want to do, I'd be most interested in how they decide what books to publish, what makes a manuscript good, that stuff.

I have one shelf for English books and one for German books, and then I just do alphabetically by author's last name :)
