when you say button as in linking it into the info right? on your blog? well, for mine i used this code for my drawings: <a href="/tagged/my+drawings">my drawings</a>

so then you can use something like: <a href="/tagged/cartoons">[TEXT; anything you want to put, it'll be like the name of the link? oh and don't include the brackets]</a>
btw, this is for tumblr, but if you want to put it on other sites, you put the whole url instead of "/tagged/cartoons" you would put "[your tumblr url].tumblr.com/tagged/cartoons"

if you meant the ones with the images, you first need to make an image and upload it to a site, like photobucket, tinypic, etc.
here's and example (one of the ones on my blog)
<a href="http://crawlingtoheaven.blog132.fc2.com/">; <img src="http://i283.photobucket.com/albums/kk284/reka_DA/banner-1.png"></a>;

so it's like <a href="[the link; where will it take you when people click on it]"> <img src="[url of the img that you want to show, the site you upload it too should give you it]"></a>

so yeah, that's how you link stuff.
