I'd endow the leadership scholarship program that paid my way through college. I'd endow the scholarship my high school gives out in my name. I'd endow some of my favorite leadership programs. I'd pay off my mortgage, my parents' mortgage, & my cousins' mortgages. I'd donate a bunch of money to the Gates Foundation & the Harlem KidZone. I'd purchase apartments in Vancouver, Chicago, & New York and a beach home somewhere (that friends and family could use). After that I still think I'd have over 25 million left over... 100 million is way too much money. I'd probably find some way to begin a youth foundation that could continue to do awesome things on an annual basis.

Sadly, I'm only fluent in English. I'm slowly working with the Rosetta Stone software to learn Spanish. Ideally, I'd love to be able to speak English, Spanish, and French. I really believe everyone should be bilingual and that we should start bilingual education in elementary school (as it is easier to learn a language then)

It's tough to say what the biggest regret is as I don't necessarily know how things will play out. A perfect example right now is my house. I'm not sure if I'm happy that I bought it. Part of me wishes I could live in another part of the country right now. At the same time, the house and my current location could domino into a few other opportunities down the road. I'll have to wait and see.

As for a mistake in my past? I definitely regret not thanking more people during my high school years. I know that some of the people I worked closest with thought at times that I was unappreciative. HUGE mistake that really affected those relationships.

I don't really eat cheese other than on a pizza. Other than that, I'm pretty open to food.
I did see FOOD INC and so I'm really trying to do my best to cut out all processed food and really follow Michael Pollan's FOOD RULES. Basically, I'm trying to:
"eat food. mostly plants. not that much"

I've been thinking about this for a few days, and I can't think of "biggest" misconception. I think it depends on how people know me.
If someone only knows me from a keynote, they sometimes think I'm somehow way different from them--that I don't feel or deal with the same doubts, struggles, or frustrations because I'm a "motivational" speaker. In truth, we all face them--it's how we respond.
Close friends sometimes think I live a jetsetter life--while I do travel a lot, it's rarely to glamorous locations.
If people only see me at a comedy club or the humorous portion of a speech, they sometimes think I might lack substance as a person--that I'm just laughs.

I guess the misconception is only there since few people know the full me--but that's true for all of us

I'd be a fan of getting some sports INTO the Olympics first. I think it is a shame we can't have Olympic American Football or Water Skiing. I figure go with the established sports first before I try to create something.

This isn't my area of expertise. Other people could answer this question better.

Song doesn't exist yet. It be one of those dance moves that is based on the song (i.e. Cha Cha Slide or Superman)
Maybe something like "Hey Hi Holla" (just made that up)

I'm actually at home for a total of 13 days. I have one local speaking engagement in that time before I hop on a plane to Spokane. Spending some time catching up on household chores (those don't really go away)

In terms of NEW friends, it'd definitely have to be the Sundance Film Festival back in January. On recent trips, I've reconnected with several of them. On most of my trips it's tough to really make new friends as I'm really in and out of a site and don't have those long conversations where you get to truly know someone.

It depends on what you classify as childhood... I'll make it a bit older and say in 6th grade I was awarded The Gypsy Robe (a theatre tradition recognizing an outstanding chorus member) for the musical FAME. It showed you could be noticed even if you were in the background.

I have my background in Key Club and leadership programs in HS which got me started speaking and presenting. In college I did things on the side and volunteered to speak a bunch. After some time, people started to ask how much I charged. In time I met other speakers who were incredibly kind and referred some of their past clients to me and I also "proved" myself at a few conferences which lead to more engagements. It was really slow at first, but ultimately turned into a decent job.

I'd bring my parents to Europe. My dad has taken some business trips out there, but my mom has yet to go. I think they'd both really enjoy it. I've been to England and France, but I'd love to check out more.

I'd probably try to be a high school leadership teacher. If that is too much in line with what I already do, then I guess my "other" profession would be a flight attendant--I really do love to travel

That's a pretty strange question. I try not to focus on the negative days. I think whenever someone is in the middle of one of the negative days, it always becomes the "saddest day." I don't think I've ever thought I'd rank the days involving the loss of loved ones. They've all hurt. Instead, I like to think of the happy days I shared with each of them. Their lives weren't about the loss--they were about the time shared together

Amazing question and I don't know if I can perfectly answer it (I'll try)
As for what inspired me to do what I do now... it seems to be what I'm good or what my "gifts" are. For some reason or another, I can do this. I really like doing this. I feel like I'm contributing when I'm doing this. I want to make a change doing this...

My inspiration comes from several things. I know musicals like Les Miserables and RENT shaped my ideal of relationships and impact, movies and miniseries like Band of Brothers and Life is Beautiful shaped my ideal of service and sacrifice, music from groups like U2 and Flobots change the way I see my world, and my faith affects who I am. I know my family inspires me or the individual people that I meet. I guess that it isn't just one thing, but a multitude.

Throughout it all is a basic belief that we are here to serve, our purpose is to love one another, and still people cannot always see the value in themselves and one another--which needs to change.

It's just the way life has panned out so far. Sometimes you meet the right people who are mutually attracted to you, sometimes you don't... at least not yet.

No, but it's because I like dogs too much. I simply travel too much to own a pet as I refuse to put an animal in a kennel that much. One day I'll get a dog again, but in the meantime I'll continue to hang out with my sisters' pets and take them for walks when I'm in town.

But if you want to buy me a dog down the road, I wouldn't refuse that offer!

I really enjoyed talking about the topic. It continues to amaze me that "going to work" means I get to challenge student leaders to SERVE and impact their communities. I love that in the course of an hour we'll all laugh together, but at the end we'll all be thinking about what we can do to make our areas better when we get home. That's fun.

Yes, I had a great time at the Nevada Stuco conference--I only wish I was a bit more awake (I wasn't at my full energy level). It was a long day for me (I woke up at 4am to catch my flight and make the drive to Spring Creek). Still, the students and advisors were really cool and it made the trip totally worth it!
