you only have to take 2 drawing classes and MOST majors have to as well, so the professors are pretty good about knowing that not everyone is an illustration major and not everyone can draw. I took the 2 drawing classes so I'm done with drawing for the rest of my time at scad which kind of nice.
but forreal. don't stress. idk why everyone thinks you can't come here if you can't draw. crazy talk that is! besides THE PHOTOGRAPHY PROFESSORS ARE WORTH IT. they rock. :) -
something that Pudge from "Looking for Alaska" would find enjoyable....

truth. I kind of feel silly sometimes though....I'll just be sitting there in class one day and someone will just pop into my head and I remember a conversation we had or something and then I'll just start smiling like an idiot haha
-
I absolutely LOVE it here. I love that the professors don't coddle you and people have more to say other than, "omg I really like this." Critiques in class definitely help better myself and my art. I don't know what art classes are like at "normal" universities but I'm positive I wouldn't have the same experience as I do here. I feel like being completely 100% surrounded by artistic people and professors is a major influence and also an incredible challenge. I'm constantly pushing myself to raise the bar with every project.
SO. I guess to answer your question, I don't deal with it, I relish in it. I love every second of being at an art school. -
WOW WE HAVE PUT THAT THING OFF. O.o
BUT YES!!!!! I'll be out of school and everything so that should be super duper. I'll get my fb back after the end of may so we can discuss things again haha......oh my.......so late....
ps: I sure do hope we are talking about the same thing. -
this is what I have: http://www.amazon.com/Opteka-RC-4-Wireless-Control-Digital/dp/B0019RGQVU/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1336941739&sr=8-6
I've had it for about 2 years, and it hasn't given me ANY problems. I haven't even had to replace the battery.....though I probably should soon, it doesn't want to work from very far away anymore. for this remote (and most others I would assume) I just put my camera on auto focus, go out to where I want to be in the photo, press the button to get it focused on me, then go to the camera and put it on Manual to keep the focus the same. then I just use the 2-second delay and go cray :) -
Well I'm certainly not going to jump without a parachute, if that's what you're wondering.

fo realsies?? I haven't gotten an angry email like youtube usually sends me when that happens. hmmmmm, I shall look into it! thank ya sir!

work on something else (like a magazine or something), it could cause them to question if the photo is actually mine. and since colleges are so busy all the time, they usually don't bother to verify this, so it almost always will count against you. is this actually true, and what would you do?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I've honestly never heard of this. Though I would assume, a college would be more impressed that you're getting your work out there and making money from it, rather than automatically assume the work isn't yours. If I were in that position where I suspect a college thinks my portfolio isn't my own work, I would just explain that you're with a stock agency, and provide proof that the images are indeed yours. If you're super worried about a college not giving you a fair chance, contact the admissions department, talk with someone, and explain your story. They're going to be more than happy to help you with your application process. I really hope all ends up well for you! -
Bubblebath. I woke up to my mom knocking on the door because she was afraid I might have drowned......mah bad.
-
I've only had a few commissioned shoots, and I gave them all CDs with the edited photos on em.
-
On a scale of "facepalm" to "headdesk" I'd say clicking no would be about 2 facepalms and a footstomp. PhotoShop crashing......head-through-the-wall. So there's that...
-
Honestly....I've failed two 365's and one 100 days of summer project. All I learned was that I'm the kind of person who can't stick to such a strict schedule like that. When I make something I'm proud of, I show it to people and that is the most satisfying thing for me. I may post 5 images in a week, or I may post 1 every few weeks. I love not feeling guilty that I didn't post a photo when I was "supposed to." I just don't like associating that kind of stress with something I absolutely adore.
