MH was never ripped. The only things that could be stolen are the icon files, because BYOND is fairly insecure with those. Any gameplay is just an imitation. And no, I did not give anyone permission to continue/rip/etc anything about Mitadake.

I honestly don't watch many movies. I don't think I've been to a movie theater in years. So the movies I end up watching are usually on cable. :v

I've played a bit of some MMOs that look interesting but I find it difficult to play them for very long or at all. Vindictus is the only one I've played in the last year, pretty much. Great for an MMO but lacks mid-high level padding content to keep it from becoming a grind fest, which is unfortunate.

Wyverntouched, which is why they're the weakest race. I don't want to spoil them.

I would look at long term players who I have not had many problems with, have shown some willingness to be helpful and contribute, and that I feel will not let drama/feelings influence them too much.

I think naming specific people would be cheating and anyone not mentioned would have their feelings hurt.

The decision to make the game was obviously mine, but it was influenced by a desire to play it with certain other people.

Because some people feel like they're entitled to a lot more than they are, and that people should have to put up with their crap regardless of if they're being disruptive/rude/etc.

Unsurprisingly, these people are usually banned.

While I usually always have a few game ideas sitting around, most of the ideas I get are larger scale, so it becomes difficult to dedicate a lot of work time to them without feeling guilty about other games that have no set work load (like SL). It doesn't help that most of the ideas are usually for RPGs, either, which are by very definition more time consuming. Things like Witches' Chess are one-off random ideas that do not require as much time to make and are just 'for fun' ultimately.

While I'm not sure what you mean by 'fighting types', I'll answer the two things I think it could mean; either an action oriented game, or a fighting (genre) game.

The thing about action games on BYOND is that it's hard to justify them from a design standpoint. They're easier, but they lack depth, partially because BYOND as an engine is not as well suited for action games. I also think that one of the benefits of having an 'action' game is that you get to see it, so it is more exciting; again, BYOND is not a great medium to have impressive visual action.

So, you have this 'not as engaging' and 'not as visually distracting' mix most of the time, and depending on the type of game that can result in something mindless and boring. This is why I think action-style or active RPGs (especially those with MMO inspired gameplay, but that's a different rant) on BYOND are going to be boring to me.

However, it can work too; games like REO2 can be mindlessly entertaining and fun. And action based sandboxish games (think any Dragonball Zeta game from older days) can be fun in the time killing, screwing around doing whatever sense. But I don't think I would call them games I would be designing.

As far as fighting genre goes... I think making a fighting game would be a fun thing to do, but not likely for a few reasons.

      1) BYOND (again) is not a platform designed for fighting games. Movement in these sorts of games would probably not be smooth enough unless you are a great programmer willing to dedicate many, many hours to fine-tuning this sort of thing. Things like hitboxes, too, would be an absolute chore to create and edit. You also have to take into account input latency, which is a huuuge factor.

I've no doubt someone could make a decent fighting game in BYOND given enough time, but that person is not me.
      2) While I do have some familiarity with how fighting games are designed, I don't feel confident enough to say I could make one that is fine-tuned or balanced.
      3) Art. I am not an artist, nor do I know many, so trying to come up with hundreds of sprites for a fighting game would be impossible unless a pixel artist fell out of the sky.

While I'm not saying I will never make an action based game, I am probably better suited to turn based games and RPGs unless I have a good idea for something else.

Not very often. I don't make it a habit to play people I don't know, as playing against meta decks isn't very fun for me.

The game is still updated regularly. However, I don't log on to idle very much anymore. Any delays with updates are Dante's fault, by the way.

One that has a deep personal connection with the protagonist. What I mean by connection is that the antagonist should have done something to inspire legitimate hate and anger in the protagonist. This doesn't really describe in detail my ideal antagonist but that's what I think the foundation of a good antagonist actually means.

    19. Nef Miyama

I have heard about it. I have heard many things about it. I doubt I'll watch it, but it's very interesting to hear about in a 'whoa' sort of way.

I'll answer this one too. The reason I don't answer these questions on Formspring (except in this one and only exception) is because it's not the place to ask them. Remaining anonymous just makes you look like you don't even have a case either, so stop asking these questions via Formspring or I will take away your ability to ask them.
