It really depends on the artist and their personal tastes. If you are asking me to help you choose what to use, I suggest you just download trials of each one and find which suits you the most.
For me, my primary tool is Photoshop. I would love to use Corel Painter, but with past computers the program always crashed (I've yet to try it on the new laptop I got a couple days ago). Paint Shop Pro used to be my go-to software before I discovered Photoshop. Gimp's interface is too cluttered and I've never heard of Sketchbook Pro. -

I find it weird when I wear them to bed, because they always somehow come off my feet on their own during the night. So most times I don't wear socks to bed.
I have no opinion of others who wear socks to bed, though. D: They can do whatever they want.
Wild sweaty sex in nothing BUT socks, on the other hand... -

I would like HM02, so I could teach a pigeon Fly and it could take me places.

Several times, in fact. It led to a childhood fear of them when I unintentionally upset one and was chased around the park by it.

Like a real friends list or just one of those "fake" friends lists like on dA? If they are requesting as part of a real friends list (a la Facebook), I would probably ignore them and let the request expire.

I would ignore them and continue on my way. Too many stories of kidnaps and rape going around. I don't want to be a part of it.

The common answer would be "because when one person asks for free art, then everyone will come to me for free art". This is true in some way; I am not a drawing machine.
After spending more than half a decade drawing for other people (commissions, trades, requests), I've learned that drawing for others isn't fun at all. When I say I'll draw for someone, they expect me to deliver. I don't like it when people expect things out of me and I end up letting them down/pissing them off when I come up with nothing.
Commissions are easier to draw than requests because money talks, but even then it's hard for me to draw them, whether it be because I don't know the character that well, I despise the character design, or I am just too lazy. I draw for fun, not to appease others. There are rare occasions where I will draw for someone, but that is only because whoever they ask me to draw has peaked my interest. This also leads to more conflicts, as the ones who are left out will whine and accuse me of playing favorites.
I want to avoid controversy, hence why I will never take requests (anymore). -
I would browse the internet on my phone... or do you mean all sources of internet? I guess I would sit back and play my DS or read a book until it came back. Or go outside and do something FUN.

Go for it! I'm curious as to who you have in mind. *INTRIGUE*

I don't know a Steve, but good for you!

It varies. I don't draw everyday. It all really depends on how eager I am to finish a piece.
And yes, I know who you are. :P -
I usually ask what they think of the weather. I'm not good at small talk. Yeah. :|

Outside of family? I dunno... less than 5? Define real? :P
