I've had this happen to me. I wrote a polite emailing explaining that although I loved the premise of the book, that the writing style and development just didn't work for me and that I would not be finishing the book and that I felt it would be in the author's best interest if I did not write about my thoughts on the book.

Not that math isn't important...but one can be a functioning productive member of society without it. On the other hand...if you can't read a street sign or fill out an employment application, it severely handicaps you.

Cheddar & sour cream if ripples. Jalapeno if kettle chips

Whichever one is the longest (# books & pages!)

I like teasers/excerpts because they are a great way to get a sample of the writers style to see if it works for you. I also love inteviews...maybe because I am nosy...but I like getting to know the authors. Guest Posts are probably my least favorite.

Nope. I read the most on my spot on the couch, in bed, and in my car on lunch break...but I also read anywhere I happen to be where I am bored or waiting

I think the most important thing is to find one that works for you...some are more academic, some are more social, some focus on different genres etc. Currently I participate in one real life club that is sort of 1/2 social 1/2 book focused (classics & Contemp.) and just joined an online YA group (because I just started reading some YA and no one I know in real life reads it)...so we'll see how that goes...

I generally have only 2 going at a time. One audiobook that I listen to when driving and another that I am reading. However sometimes if I need something portable or find myself waiting somewhere with nothing to read then I will start a 3rd on my Nook and end up reading that one on lunch at work etc...and the hard copy at home before bed etc.

Believe it or not...The Hunger Games. I put off reading it for so long...just could not get past the idea of kids killing each other. A few months before the movie came out I decided to give it a try and loved it (and raced through the other 2 books as well)

If they are review books then I post my "thoughts" about them. About a month ago I did my first DNF reads post. I had about 6 that I'd not been able to finish over the past 7 months and I just wanted to get them off my To Be Read/To Be Reviewed pile. I did them all in one post and just wrote a quick paragraph about why each didn't work for me (but may work for others) I was clear in my post that I had not finished them and I didn't call them reviews.

I have the same problem...when I first started on NetGalley I assumed that I would only get approved for maybe 10% of what I requested so I wasn't very selective. Then I ended up getting approved for so many that I don't know how I will ever read & review them all. I try to do 2 a month(in addition to my other commitments) to catch up and I haven't requested any new ones yet this year. So far I've finished about 50%

Yes! Which is why I accepted way too many my first 6 months blogging!! Now I try to be more selective and I always try to nicely decline but ask them to keep me in mind for future releases.
-
I try to post no more than a week before the release date. I'll rate it (stars) on good reads but I won't post my review anywhere until a week prior. Unless otherwise specified by the publisher/publicist.
-
Just future reviews...I'd rather spend time on future content than correcting pages which no longer get many hits.
-
I had planned to when starting my blog but still only review about 60%. By summer I hope to be posting reviews for 100% of them

In a magazine holder on my bookcase.

I was planning to go to BEA, but I was one of the bloggers that got a rejection email on Friday :( Still waiting to see how that all pans out. I don't know that I can/or want to afford spend extra $$
