There are six colours, not eight - Red, orange, yellow, green, blue and violet. Indigo isn't a damn colour.
I suppose if you wanted to force eight it would be red, orange, yellow, green, turquoise, blue, indigo and violet.
But then again you could have red, orange, yellow, lime, green, turquoise, blue, indigo and violet...
The point is there is no real number of colours in a rainbow. It is the entire visible part of the EM spectrum. Let me put it this way - when does red become orange? There is no defining limit to when a colour becomes another colour. It's all perceptive. -
