      Is is possible to express ulam's spiral as an equation?

      Almost anything can be expressed as a equation... for example define a function that generate ulam spirals... and let the other function equals to it= =

      Well, do more math... Try AoPS's books for math, and SICP, CLRS, Sipser's theory of computation for CS. Check out some Skiena's programming challenge textbook as the starting point of apply all the things you learn in CS.
