Dark. Possibly with almonds in it.

My fear of ladders. It's kept me from work I might have otherwise had.

Most of my paintings are approximately 3600x5400 pixels at 300 dpi (12"x18"). Sometimes I work larger. When I do game cards I work slightly smaller.

I, personally, make the majority of my money (which admittedly isn't much), from my artwork. I sometimes do graphic design work on the side, and I've been paid for the occasional bit of writing or editing. How do you become a freelance artist? I don't recommending doing it unless you're willing to commit a lot of your time and energy to promoting yourself and trying to find work. Work will not come to you. Ever. You have to want it, and you have to go out there and get it. Keep a side job until you find that you're spending the majority of your time doing work for your freelancing clients. Then carefully consider how much money you need to make monthly in order to pay your bills and keep a roof over your head. If you're close, just using the work you do freelance, and you think you can keep up that amount of work then think about going freelance full time. Be aware that this will require far more self discipline than you might think at first. You are your boss, and you're going to have to make yourself work, every day.

Purple. I'd explain smurf lividity but it's sorta gross.

Whichever one that works. :) I know that's a non-answer, but the truth is you have to play around to find the right brushes for you. In painter I tend to use modified oil pastel brushes the most, and several custom made brushes (some my own, some I downloaded from other people). In Photoshop I have a ton of brushes that I alternate between, but the best are just the basic round brushes.
Really it's just about playing around and experimenting until you find the brush that works for you. -
Maybe eventually. I have a Cheshire Cat piece that I need to finish.

Honestly, I don't really remember. The first thing I ever remember drawing was a picture of a shaggy dog standing on a hill. I think that was kindergarten.

Imagine FX magazine has had some great articles on color, recently.
Also check out http://gurneyjourney.blogspot.com/search/label/Color for some good, if pretty technical articles on color.
And if you've got some cash, Gnomen Workshop has a dvd called "Practical Light and Color" that's pretty excellent (http://www.thegnomenworkshop.com ) -
One of my current projects involves a silver dress that's totally covered in lace.
You can imagine my pain.
Go ahead. Imagine it. In all it's tiny, intricate, lacy, silvery detail.
Are your fingers cramping yet?
You're not imagining hard enough. -
I don't really like horror, but otherwise, I pretty much like all genres.
Favorite films: The Shawshank Redemption, Amelie, Pirates of the Caribbean, Labyrinth, Fight Club, The Ghost and the Darkness, Singing in the Rain, Chicago, Terminator 2: Judgement Day...
I'm kind of eclectic. -
I write all the time. Constantly. I've got three new stories all in progress at the moment (though one is definitely getting more attention than the other two), and a play. As for older works... I do have some backburner projects, but at the moment I'm pretty diverted by newer ideas. The old ones are still simmering. I might pick them back up eventually.

Best tip for beginners: Don't stop practicing.
Also, see "sketching" question below -
Sketch from life. Sketch from photos. If you want to get better at drawing people, check out some of the stock artists on dA. Do quick, 5 minute sketches of poses, or longer studies of hands, faces, etc. If people aren't your bag, then do landscapes, or objects or animals. Don't worry so much about the inspiration... it'll hit when it hits. Build your artist vocabulary in the meantime. I carry a sketchbook with me everywhere (although I don't use it as much as I should), and I use it to sketch whenever I'm just sitting somewhere with nothing else to do.

Way out on the edge of the crowd. If I squint really hard, I can see it, way over there on the horizon. I like to wave at it sometimes.
(Seriously... not religious. Agnostic leaning towards atheism, if you wanted to put a label on it. I think the Bible has some good stories in it, though. So do most other religions. I studied mythology in college, thought about minoring in it.) -
Another bleach blond british accented bad boy in black leather. This one is even more demanding and persistent. Also, he keeps threatening to eat me if I don't behave and do what he says.
-
My dog? No. She's still too new, I think. However, my parents' dog, a happy go-lucky English Setter who is sweet but dumb as a bag of bricks (sorry mom!)... I think she might end up in a story I have in the works.
