I prefer PCs, but I'm not incapable of using a Mac either. To my Mac-purist brethen, don't say "But you've never really switched over, you just need get used to it, etc." THIS BABY was the very first computer I ever used. I've used both systems pretty extensively over the years, and in the end, I stick with PCs for a plethora of reasons. Here's a few of them.

I prefer Window's openness to computer modification. My husband and I build our own PCs now-days. Even when I was a teen, our family computer went through it's fare-share of memory upgrades and hard-drive additions. The second you open the case of your Mac, your warranty is void. End of story. Fine for some people, not for us.

And this isn't really a problem with the Mac itself, but software compatibility IS an issue. Through my line of work I've had to work in 3d a lot, and most 3d programs just aren't Mac comparable. So it's just not really a viable option for me.

And at the end of the day, when you buy a Mac, you're paying double. Double for the Mac OS, but also for the SAME parts that you'd get in a PC - except for the monitor. (I'll totally admit, their monitors are brilliant.)

Despite our shared preference for PCs, Jay and I have the dream of building a hybrid Mac-PC machine. And I shall name it Frankencomputer!!

Yes, yes, and no. I don't think of fate in the fundamentalist way, in the sense that everything that will ever happen to you is per-determined and you cannot do anything to change it. Rather I think there are paths that we take that will lead us to certain outcomes, but decisions that we make in life are like forks in that path.

There are countless people who claim to be able to read into their/your future. While I think the VAST majority of people who claim to be able to read futures are full of crap, I think a select few are actually able to - and those who can aren't the ones trying to make money doing it. But what they do see, I think, is only one outcome, and decisions you make from that point on can alter your path and change the outcome.
Um...it's hard to explain, haha.

As for luck, I have my doubts. I think luck was an abstract concept for ancestral people who weren't yet able to understand probability and odds. But I'm open to ideas about it.

A magician's assistant? Maybe...I wouldn't really want to be an assistant in the traditional sense of "random pin up girl just stands here and does whatever the man says." But I think I'd like being the Teller to someone's Penn, more of a supporting character than just being 'the help.' :)

As for what trick, I have no idea. Really. I'm totally clueless when it comes to magic tricks, haha. Defying physics somehow, like walking up a wall or something, I guess?

When I write against conservatives...it's not so much in the fiscal or political sense of the word. That doesn't bother me. It's the social aspect of it.

Most of my anti-conservative remarks are in regard to anti-gay politicians, because I'm a VERY strong supporter of marriage equality, and women's rights. (which undeniably go hand-in-hand) I think that anything less than 100% equal treatment of heterosexual and homosexual citizens is discrimination, pure and simple. I believe it is my responsibility, as a citizen and as a person with empathy and compassion towards others, to stand up in the face of discrimination and bigotry.

I'm a very progressive person in general, you could say. But actually, I do have quite a few conservative friends and acquaintances. We can agree to disagree and get along just fine. :)

Thank you! Yes and no. I mean, in real-life, I don't really consider anyone to be a antagonist in the.... "vile, curly-mustached villain!" sense of the word. XD But there will definitely be plenty of times where characters clash. Like already, there is occasional tension between student A and student B, or between a student and a teacher. Overall there's going to be more moments of individuals just driving each other crazy. Immature drama ftw!!

However, that being said...there is a major antagonistic force that has already been in the comic, but not in a way that you might expect. :) There will always be major negatives forces in our lives, but those forces are not necessarily people, but the outcomes of circumstance.

As for rivals? :) I've always been jealous of Kylie's outstanding drawing abilities. DAMN YOU WOMAN. <3

OH GOD who are you and why did you ask me this. You know, don't you? I CAN TELL THAT YOU KNOW.

You know that when I was in high school - starting as an inside joke - I made a webcomic. And I'm going to be honest with you and with myself: it was awful. AWFUL. It was a learning attempt, and thank god I learned enough to be able to look back at it and tell that it WAS JUST AWFUL. The story was made up on the fly and made no sense, the characters were stereotypical and/or Mary Sues, and those were the days of free webcomic hosting sites that brutally assaulted your eyeballs with thousands of pop-up advertisements.

It went about 3 chapters and I grew progressively less happy with it, although my art was improving tremendously by doing it. Once I started college, I had real difficulty keeping it up, as well as less interested in maintaining it because - again - it was awful, and I don't think there were that many readers anyway... I let it go on hiatus and then shut the doors. It never ended. Yes, I'm terrible...but even thought it ended up that way, I learned a lot through my many mistakes in creating it, and hope I'm not recommitting them now! Art: Institutionalized is, in my humble opinion, a huge improvement over that old webcomic, and to anyone who had the misfortune of reading it, I hope you agree. I'm NOT linking to it, because I'm just too embarrassed. But...it may or may not still be on the internet. ...Because I may or may not have forgotten my login information to that old free hosting website. >_<

ALCOHOL.

Nah just kidding. That's not the right way. It's far too expensive. I mean, like 8 dollars for a mojito? I can't afford to cure my ills.

Ok just kidding again :) Seriously this time: I think the most effective way to deal with my stress is to take some time to relax, read a book or study art, and clear my head and just...think. Just sit around and think and calm myself. I don't think I can call it meditation, but something of the sort.

8. Megan P.

Despite how it might look right now...lol, there is a beginning, middle, and end already planned for A:I. Once it's over, time to move on to other projects! :) But no worries, there's still plenty of stuff coming.

9. Megan P.

I'm not at all picky, but due to occasional stomach problems, I typically refuse to touch beef, cheese, and white bread. I just like to eat healthy. :)

Number one way, in my opinion? School. If you're in school see if there's a group for people with interests similar to yours. Meeting people at comic/anime/etc conventions is a possibly also, and when it doubt just ask for your friends. I'm a firm believer in six degrees of separation!

If you're not having luck teaming up with someone...you know, IRL, a great way to meet artist is online creative communities, like Devianart. But make sure to get to know the person really well before you commit to working with a stranger. You want to make sure that you don't bump shoulders or rub each other the wrong way.

11. Megan P.

First and foremost, have you considered pairing up with an artist to work as a team? Some artists do prefer to write their own work, but many don't and would rather collaborate with a talented writer. It's a great way to brainstorm new ideas together and motivate each other, but of course comes with it's own set of challenges.

I'D FLY YOU TO THE MOON AND BACK IF YOU'LL BE MY BABY

Um actually, realistically speaking, the first thing I'd probably do is pay off our mortgage, my parent's mortgage, my hubby's parents mortgage, and pay off all our school loans. THEN fly around the world with the wings that will magically sprout out of my back.

14. Megan P.

I try my best to act pretty calm and normal, actually. I try to look at it from their point of view and think, if someone I've never met runs up to me super excited and loud, I'd feel a little awkward, so I try to respect them...haha. I get nervous too >_<; (Sorry, that makes for a boring answer, huh?)

At Anime Expo in 2006, I won a chance to met CLAMP!! I was so, SO excited. When I went I still tried to be calm (plus there was tons of security, so that definitely helped lmao) but I was so excited that I just got really nervous and quiet, and said thank you a lot. Like seriously, a lot. Too much.

Best part? I got to give them some RG Veda fan art I did, and the pinstriped fedora in my "Megan-has-stupid-hat-DERP" comics? I was wearing it, and Makona LOVED it. XD *squee* And that's the #1 fangirl moment of my young life.

15. Megan P.

Honestly? I believe people have witnessed unexplained phenomena, and I think that it's both plausible and likely that sentient life can exists on other planets beside our own. But I don't necessarily believe that aliens are literally flying spaceships to our planet.

Assuming that other galaxies began to develop around the same time ours did, a hypothetical alien civilization would probably have developed at a similar speed to us, and their technology would be around a level comparable to ours, not thousands of years ahead of us. *shrug* I don't know, really, but I feel like if there are other species out there, they're probably cluelessly wondering about the same things we are!

16. Megan P.

Hehe...no, I don't think I can give it away! But, a small hint is that you'll be introduced to more characters, and ones we've already seen will be expanded upon more.

17. Megan P.

I'm not sure if that was a legit question or an underhanded comment, b/c I'm no model of efficiency! Lol

When I'm feeling burnt out, I like to switch between multiple tasks...ex: if I'm getting tired of inking, I'll sketch for a while then switch back.

18. Megan P.

Firstly: thanks for reading and thank you so much for your kind wishes, it really means a lot. :)

Secondly, yes! New comics are starting this week!! Now I just have to get caught up...@_@ lol.

OMG it's working FINALLY. No thanks to formspring! >:( They never answered my emails so I had to figure it out myself.

To anyone else who's having trouble loading formspring, delete your cookies, then refresh and try again. Thank you to whoever typed in this gibberish, it made me work harder to test this and figure it out, haha.
