I'd simply adore a question or four.

Oh hey. Check the ol' Formspring and find a question sittin' here. My holiday was quite lovely, thank you, and I did not actually resolve anything for New Year's. My life is changing quite a bit in a few weeks, so I thought Moving Halfway Up The Country resolutions would be a little more meaningful. THOSE resolutions are to re-orient my sleeping schedule, get back to reading (almost) as much as I did when I was 13, and be more adult-like.

That's a good question, considering I don't know what people notice about me. I guess it would be that I'm an overly caring person. I have strong affection for people, and I think a lot of folks see that as a play for approval, but it really isn't. More often than not it pushes people away, but I just care a whole lot about the people around me, and I don't think many of them see that.

Well, my professional goal in life is a career in music, but I think the number one thing would be starting a family/being Dad. I've been a kid person as long as I can remember, and I want to be able to create something and give all of my love to it. I guess that's my primary goal in life.

That's actually really tough. There have been a lot of fantastic movies this year. Inception, Scott Pilgrim, Toy Story 3, Kick Ass and Get Him To The Greek are all very close but I think the overall most well-rounded quality film of the year so far is The Book of Eli. Mostly because of it's misleading depth. It appears to be nothing more than pretext for a gory action fiesta, but when you strip away the layers of that movie, there is SO much about it that's mystifying and thought-provoking.

I like Matthew. I'm not a big fan of Matt, and that's all anyone called me for the first 16 years of my life. Nowadays though, I'm pretty much just Matthew, and I like it a lot. If I had to change it, it would either be my middle name, Ian, which I really like, or an Irish name (probably Liam).

I play bass, guitar, piano, violin, trombone, french horn, mandolin, banjo, ukulele, irish tin whistle, harmonica, melodica, trumpet, euphonium, tuba, saxophone and drums :-)

They are an antithesis of an order, aren't they? Both powerful and able, yet the dinosaur represents organic, primal and unrestrained might, while the robot is the ultimate in calculation and precision. A dinosaur is essentially a bundle of instinct wrapped in claws and teeth. A robot is could be programmed to inflict similar damage as a dinosaur, but it would never have that special touch of humanity (Yes, dinosaurs have humanity. Read the Bible). To summarize, DINOSAURS RULE, ROBOTS RULE SLIGHTLY LESS! RAAAAAAAAAAWRARARARARARARAAAAAWRRRRRR!!!!

I had tophatfuls of fun! I loved being back up North, seeing all the familiar scenery and the beautiful sites, and spending time with two halves of the coolest person I know :-PPP

Not too shabby. Most of it was spent in New York with Sarah and her wonderful family. I had a fantastic time.

    11. Matthew Ian O'Donnell

Super excited, because I'm gonna spend half of it in New York with my supercallifragilistic best gal friend Sarah, who I haven't seen in a very long time :-)

Best: The energy. I have never in my life gotten such little sleep, and yet been so wired day in and day out. It's incredible. The only times I ran out of steam was when we had days we didn't play. That drained all of my energy. Worst: The impermanence. The majority of your time to cool off is spent in the hours between when you get to the gig and when you play, but this has to be spent mentally and physically preparing, making nice with the venue, setting up equipment and general stressing. You pretty much have to spend all of your time in motel rooms sleeping to keep going, and the driving time is cramped hell. There's really no rest for the wicked on a tour. This has the unfortunate mental side effect of your mind never having time to settle itself in one spot. It really gives the feeling of not having a homebase. It's a very strenuous state to cope with.

If by the world around me, you mean the things that personally affect me on a day-to-day basis, then it would be that my Dad didn't have to work the terrible job he works. If it were on a global scale, it would probably be something about orphans or AIDS or some touchy-feely crap like that.

The center of the Earth. Mostly because I'm curious if there are any life forms that could withstand the intolerable heat of the earth's core, and could be living right under our camo converse. I'd turn into a puddle within two seconds, but at least I'd know.

If I were saving the world or replacing a lightbulb, I would ask my little brother Philip for help. He's kind of a genius, and has a knack for solving problems that I could never dream of measuring up to. And as for what I'd do, I'd probably tell the president.

I was attempting a double-entendre, but I did mean it literally. I like dark meat, as in actual meat.

This would be the tour I'm going on with my band, Attila and the Huns. We're playing across the Southeast and up into Ohio and West Virginia. We'll be back on the 18th :-)
