When you read/hear something from a celebrity (Twitter, article, interview, etc.), would you be comfortable with them talking about their political/religious views or would you want them to keep quiet? Or just be somewhere in the middle?
When celebrities share political views that others share, they become icons and role models; a spokesperson by any other name that shows we identify with them. People only become upset when a celebrity’s ideological views differ from their own.
