My aim is on my about page on tegaki! I'd love to do some plotting. I have a class now though! Back in an hour or so!

HAHA okay, the thing you need to know about me and Yami (JC's player) is that when we get an idea in our heads, no matter how stupid or impossible, we see it through to the end. It's the same with a lot of my friends, actually. No matter how odd or out of character the idea is, if it sounds fun, we'll make it work. It's a blessing and a little bit of a curse. So when we joke about drunken gay encounters, sooner or later they'll probably happen. Does Beau remember? No. Not right away, at least. Maybe later, if he really thinks hard about it. Plus, he's phenomenal at suppressing things he doesn't want to believe are true, so it'll be a while (if ever) before he accepts that things got a little queer between him and JC.

So my mystery will never be solved. This makes me sad. You anonymity teases me madame or sir.

Thanks for liking my answer! I'd like to see your friends character sometime, i think it's fascinating when there is more than one uniquely named character. Even though sometimes it makes me feel a little uncreative!

Hannah I love you. THIS IS GOING TO BE LONG WINDED AND I AM GOING TO TREAT IT LIKE YOU DON'T ALREADY KNOW A LOT ABOUT HIM.
/me
Raziel has always been an asshole. In his first incarnation he started off in Heaven, like angels do, and was...tolerable, at best. He's always had an issue where if he does not speak his mind and unload the steady flow of information he becomes depressed and sick with the burden of keeping it. So even in his beginnings he would have a know-it-all complex, though not really out of assholery, but more out of necessity. ((He would still come off as an asshole about it)) The gods (including his creator/father) of this roleplay forum didn't like him because he knew about all of their corruption,\. His brothers and sisters didn't really mind him too much, especially the ones that liked to gossip. And he was a little notorious for being a player, only to kick the lady out the next morning because he felt like he was too good for her. ((but a few other of his brothers were doing that too, so it wasn't very surprising)) So, yeah, he was a douchebag with very little empathy or feeling for anyone other than himself ((See: Edric's story for a good example of this. He pretty much tells him his daughter is going to die a horrible death without much remorse))
Blah Blah shit happens, Heaven has a war, Raziel is accused of giving information to both fighting sides and is punished for treachery ((really the gods just wanted to get rid of him)) so he endures the most brutal physical punishment of all of his brothers and sisters who were punished alongside him. The winning god of the heavenly war finds a nice little cave to hide him in and NAILS HIM TO IT. Seriously he uses everything but goddamn superglue to keep him there. Ropes, nails, ~godly magic~, everything along that line. He even mutates his skull to give Raziel horns that keep him from lifting his head. This is the point where I played Raziel the most. The roleplay forum would have little quests to FIND RAZIEL and RECEIVE THE ANSWER TO ANY QUESTION EVER! His speech pattern consisted of a lot of gurgling and passing out, but goddammit whenever he'd get a visitor he would tell them whatever they wanted to know. Because of that whole sickness thing i mentioned earlier. ((Fun fact. The major inspiration for Raziel at this point was a Luis Royo painting I'd seen involving an angel fucking another angel on a wall, and his wings were all nasty and shit. I'll see if i can dig it up)) Raziel at this point is not as much of an asshole as he was anymore. He is in constant suffering and frankly he doesn't have the energy to be haughty with anyone. Actually he had moments of being solemn, caring, sincere, and thankful. Woah! Maybe he's finally learned his lesson.
Okay YEARS AND YEARS AND YEARS go by. Seriously he is on that cave wall for damn near an eternity. The gods fall out of power ((existence? i actually never knew what happened to them)) and all (lie) of the punishments placed on the angels are revoked. This is particularly (disgustingly) hilarious in Raziel's case because at this point his skin has pretty much become a part of the cave wall. So when he restraints fall so does he, but a good portion of his flesh and wings stay up there. Ow. Hes pretty pathetic and wails and crawls out of his labyrinth cave ((okay never mind i guess it's a little bad ass that he went that far)) and finds refuge. It takes him a while to heal and to teach his body to walk again, but it happens, and boy is he pissed. WHOOPS NO LESSON LEARNED.
Off of the wall Raziel travels and delivers his knowledge to anyone who will listen ((and even those who dont)) He reverts almost instantly back into his asshole habits of acting superior to everyone ((Even more so a little now because shit, he was just through hell)) And this is probably around the time where he is now. In different roleplays he has similar roles, usually all involving him being a teacher or an informant of some kind. His assholery probably peeks in the roleplays where he begins to develop a god complex. He was never one for usurping power or taking what wasn't his, but in some stories he feels as if he deserves to have the best and be the best because no one is his mental superior.
Some of these versions of him include:
Lakewood Highschool: A librarian with a mean streak, talks down to most of the people who visit. Tolerates few for reasons even he isnt aware of. He is most human in this story, and has emotions buried deep deep deep down inside. I think it's the mortality. Were he his usual fallen angel self he wouldn't give a good god damn about no one no how. He does pretend to be human in other roleplays similar to this, and has similar roles of being a teacher/principal. But in those he is still his ancient self, and i like playing him with that feeling of divine superiority that he has when there is a good reason for it.
Rabu Church ((GUYS CAN WE GIVE THIS A LESS SILLY NAME NOW THAT SERIOUS PLOT SHIT HAPPENS IN IT?)): Similar to Lakewood High only he runs a school. He is visited by a virile young angel named Auriel looking for answers to all of his questions. This is where Raziel's god complex kicks in. He rips off Auriel's wings and takes them for his own, then sets things in motion to make sure he gets to keep them. If this progresses, Raziel will begin to realize how easy manipulation and gaining power is ((perhaps a little of Auriel's enthusiasm seeped into him)) and he'll attempt to take control of bigger and better things.
After The Art Of: A story in the progress of a close friend of mine. New gods come to power after a terrible cataclysm on earth and Raziel believes that he will finally reach God status after the millions of years of suffering he endured. Instead they give the title 'God of Knowledge' to a young man, making him Raziel's superior. This sends him into something just under BLIND MURDEROUS RAGE, and he becomes the very essence of torment to this new god. The story is still in the works, but this is probably the high point of Raziel's assholery. He will do some twisted shit to this poor kid so he can claim the godhood he feels he deserves.
There you have it. Most everything you'd ever want to know about Raziel. There is probably more up in my head somewhere, but that's a good summary of his character and his history. If you couldn't tell he is one of my favorites. Raziel can be a villain when i want him to be, and he fits the role perfectly. Its fun to dive into the mind of an asshole. even if that mind is something more complex than what even I as his creator could imagine. He's definitely come alive since his creation. and he never ceases to challenge me every time i try to play him. I do the most research for his dialogue and actions and i spend the most time contemplating his responses. If I do any less he will not work for me, and i think it's this mentally draining process he puts me through that makes me the most proud of creating such an INTOLERABLE ASSHOLE. -
There is an angel in the kabbalah with the name of Raziel. It supposedly means "God's Secret" and that angel is supposed to be the keeper of mysteries, and his book is said to hold all secret knowledge.
I admittedly know next to nothing about Jewish mysticism, but when i was creating the character many many many years ago, i needed an angel for this group of mythology stories my boyfriend was writing. I found a list of angels online (( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_theological_angelsThanks Wikipedia! )) and pulled aside a few i liked and started to roughly think of concepts in my head.
I ultimately decided on Raziel because i was intrigued with the idea of a person/angel/creature/thing being capable of knowing all that was not known and decided to play off of that.
When the character Raziel was first created for a still ongoing roleplay forum i was a part of, he was an NPC kind of character that I gave dialogue to whenever someone came across him in a quest or something. In the mythologies of this roleplay, i tweaked the original Raziel's attribute from 'mysteries' to 'knowledge'. He was a character that literally knew everything that ever happened in the world ever. Coincidentally enough, he did not know things that were mysterious or unknown. He had like, a shared brain link to every living thing on the planet, under the planet, above the planet. If someone knew something so did he.
Now I could go on and on and on about Raziel's beginnings, and how he's changed from his first incarnation to now, but this question just asked about his name, and i figure that's all you want to know. But I would be crazy enthused to blab more about him if anyone is curious! You can ask more questions here or hit me up on skype or aim! I love talking about characters. Mine or otherwise! Maybe you can talk my ear off like i just did for you. -
Too effin many. Like I seriously suck at answering this question and keeping it to a few sentences. I love dark, creepy music. A Perfect Circle and Tool are great for that. Maynard's voice is just something gifted from GOD. But on the flip side I also love sweet and strange sounds too. IMA Robot is a good example of that. I'm forever a Rush fan too, Niel Peart could could drum his way into my heart. I love Gaga but who doesn't now-a-days? I grew up with Billy Joel in elementary school and got heavy into the punk scene in high school. Misfits, Exploited, Sex Pistols, and this list is getting ridiculous now. Right now I'm really into Dead Man's Bones, you thought Ryan Gosling was good looking? Just listen to him sing.

I am surrounded by awesome and inspiring people. It just makes me look cooler than I am by association.

Probably between the cowboy and viking. Both are pretty impressive displays of manliness, I don't think I could settle for just one. Then again, it would be cool if the T-Rex posed for me, a la Rose from Titanic.

Haha. If that means "Where do you get your inspiration from?" I can say just about anywhere. I keep stacks of magazines for the pictures and I buy a whole bunch of art books. I write down what weird things I hear people say and some stuff just sticks with me enough that a full idea blossoms out of it. I'm pretty sure you can find beauty and inspiration in everything. Motivating myself to actually do something with the ideas is what I'm bad at.
