I was inspired to write by a love of reading. Also, when I was a teenager, I wrote to the author of one of my favourite books and told her I wanted to be a writer. She wrote back with wonderful encouragement. That was inspirational too!

I hope I can help with your second question. I'd say: find out as much as you can about the career you want. Google it and ask careers advisers, etc, for information. Think about your favourite subjects at school, and the subjects you need to study to reach your goal. Dive in and enjoy them - keep asking questions and reading around what you're learning. Most of all, have fun!
