I read a lot, practiced a lot and read some more. I'm also on a bunch of portrait photography forums where I was able to learn and post photos for CC (constructive criticism).

I have my clients print at Mpix.com, they do a great job!

I hate flat lighting on newborns, I try to avoid it at all costs

I use studio light too if necessary. I can shoot with one light and make it look like natural light.

Which post? I love shooting at meadowlark in the evenings, the light is divine.

It's actual wood floors I put together for this purpose.

I shoot newborns with my 50L between 1.4-2.2 with no issues getting sharp images. The baby is not moving so it should be somewhat easier than say a moving toddler. Try to keep your shutter speed over 200.

Probably camera. The 50 1.4 is a great lens so I'd upgrade your body first.

Hi there, I received it from a friend, not sure where she found it.

I'd underexpose a tad (expose for the white shirts) and then fix the exposure in photoshop/acr. I always recommend my clients DON'T wear white, I think it washes people out anyway, I prefer colors!

All cultures are different, here in america it's the norm to photograph your baby as young as possible!
