A few years ago, I traveled to Stormwind to thank the person who saved my life in the aforementioned tale. In our conversation I mentioned feeling fit enough to return to service, and she suggested the Silver Dragoons. Looking into their history, I found they had been under the command of a gnome for several years. I submitted my application the following day.

Like any other Alliance soldier, I will give my life to carry out the obligations of my station. I was in a situation years ago where I fully expected this to happen, yet despite being a member of the Gnomeregan guard with a responsibility to stay behind and fight against the invasion that claimed our home city, somehow I'm still here. Perhaps you'd like to hear the tale sometime?

You seem to be drawing highly inappropriate conclusions about my motivations. Then again, so have several of the Dragoons, as evidenced by their histrionic bellyaching and attempts to portray me as some kind of draconian slave-driver infringing on their personal freedom. What I want is for everyone -- myself included -- to follow the basic rules that permit a military unit to function efficiently and without causing unnecessary harm to itself. Those who fail to follow those rules should be provided a harsh deterrent to avoid repeating the same idiotic mistakes.

As one of two Corporal F'Sharris has been unexpectedly promoted to Sergeant, that presently leaves just one other individual at my rank. I'd offer my feelings on whether she's likely to be open to enforcing rigid disciplinary measures, but I think the Commander's choice of words at the anniversary to justify her promotion are all anyone needs to answer THAT question.

Oh, I've been working on that already, not that my first charge is off to an overly impressive start. Of course, not everyone will opt for extracurricular lessons ... so on the occasions I am placed in charge of Dragoons in the field, I intend to run a VERY tight ship.

I intend to advocate the most strict punishments possible for violation of military code -- to carry them out when my rank permits, and to give strong recommendation to my superiors otherwise. Many people would be quite surprised how often certain physical punishments are permitted. I also plan to investigate a past transgression or two that seemed to escape resolution before the eyes of the unit ...
