      My friend says that sometimes she takes short semi-formal dresses, folds the skirt up under the bodice, safety pins it, and wears it as a top. I never noticed that she'd done this before, so it must not have looked that awkward, but is this a thing?

      A few years back when I was a size two I bought this fabulous fifties style dress. It was white with pink roses on it and a big ole skirt, you know the kind that are just made for twirling. I am no longer a size two but I have found that I can fold the top down and wear it as a fabulous skirt. Whenever I do so I get loads of compliments.

      I've also done it the other way but generally with light dresses as they don't bulk up.
