When you become a "fan" of something or someone (a band or actor) do you simply enjoy what they produce that is easily accessible (music or films) or do you make an effort to find out more about them/the topic?
I become a fan of peoples music, if I'm a fan of the actual person, I like whatever I like about them, I see no reason to try and learn more about them, people don't tend to interest me too much.
Unless they're my personal friends, then I'll waste time on them, but I see no reason to obsess over celebrities.
