Well, I have only done a few weddings and I look forward to having many more this year! I started as a second shooter (which I TOTALLY advice everyone to do)! Even after you have your own weddings lined up, always take some time to second shoot a wedding-for a few reasons. One, to me it helps me relax and gain experience in weddings that I can't always gain as the main photog because I am too caught up with time constraints and making sure everything is just right. Another reason is you can work with a fellow photog and together learn new things from each other.
So to answer the question about the most challenging part, to me it's getting out there and booking the weddings.
A must have for shooting weddings in low light situations is #1 Creativity!! Work with what you got! Also, external flash makes a huge difference! There are different options for different styles but mainly you can choose from continuous lighting versus the lighting that is set off by a transmitter. Have fun and experiment to find exactly what meets your needs! :-) -
I am very selective about my favs! I consider many factors including style, personality, technical skills, online presence, marketing skills, and image uniqueness to name a few! :)
In no particular order, here are some of my "local" favs (I mention some because this is off the top of my head and I might miss some!) ;-)
BTW, Thank God you just asked for local, you saved me endless hours! ;-)

No prob! Someone did ask :) Here is my answer:
Ha! It's a bit silly, but here goes! :) I was thinking about a name for our business and I wrote out my husband, Khaled's initial and my initial. So I had K & M and it was so boring! I got frustrated when I couldn't think of anything and started doodling kisses all over the page! And then it hit me, "Kismis"-that includes our initials! I searched to see if it was a real word and the only thing I could find was that in Indonesian it means raisin! :)
The "Ink" part was added because we were not only going to focus on photography but also provide graphic design services! There you have it, Kismis Ink! ;) -
Shootq is an awesome tool for ALL photogs! It's like having a virtual office manager! I think that it is a must have and because you can customize to match your needs, it fits every photogs need, portrait or weddings.
In this link, Jason Aten explains some of the awesome ways Shootq can help your business! :-)

I ♥ food and it is so hard to pick a favorite!! The meal I could eat EVERY day would be a buffalo chicken wrap from Great Wraps!! What I add on is what makes it so yummy to me, here goes:
-jalapeno
-tzatziki sauce
-provolone cheese
Yummy!By the way, I ♥ arabic, greek, & spanish food the most! -
First, I need to know their destination!!! ;)
By the way, green apples are my fav! -
Well, everyone is different and has different styles/needs. So I can share with you what I started with:
-Nikon D60 DSLR, it came with a lens and I bought an extra one along with it.
-I also have Photoshop CS3/CS4 and lightroom (but I tend to use PS more)
-SB-600/800 Flash
-Blogger
-Facebook (fb has been an incredible marketing/networking tool for my business)
-Twitter (I don't use as much as I should,though)
That's it, besides my passion and creativity!
Now there are additional resources to make a photog's life easier and the business grow (that I would recommend)
Showit websites
WHCC
Shootq

I know I am probably missing some other things but hope that helps for now! :-) -
I ♥ my camera so much, but I know that with an upgrade, I will not feel as limited and will be able to explore more challenges and take my creativity to the max!
Body:
I am thinking of renting a few different cameras to try out and see what fits me, but I have heard lots of awesome things about the (D3, D3X, and D3S) and the D700. More likely, I will get the D700 since it's more in my budget range, but we'll see.

My dream session would actually be a combo- because it would entail a wedding and a day after session! It would be in Dubai with the most exotic and beautiful couple, the most amazing array of colors, unique details beyond belief and the bride completely covered in the most breathtaking work of henna! Ahhh...that would definitely be a dream come true! :)

I am so awful about choosing just one thing in life! Seriously, I ALWAYS try to do everything that I feel passionate about! So, I would definitely try to merge the two!! :-)
You see, as a journalist, I will travel and write and with my camera by my side at ALL times, I will capture those once in a lifetime moments too!
Best of both worlds, now if I could just learn to write! LOL! ;) -
Definitely!! First law: Free pizza for everyone in the country! :-)
