Seriously, though, if you're interested in someone else, BE INTERESTED IN THEM. Encourage them to talk. Be a listener. Don't quote Joss Whedon and Monty Python and let that replace conversation.

If you're having trouble talking to women, learn to talk to them as PEOPLE. There's this whole perception that there's a gulf between men and women that I don't think really exists. Talk to women you meet every day (do not hit on them,) even if it's just a "how are you?" to the person taking care of you at a coffee shop or whatever. Once you start being comfortable talking to PEOPLE, you'll be more comfortable talking to WOMEN. If that makes sense.
