Clean shaven generally...I just don't because it's troublesome.

This is a "very good thing". I am happy that you have no identity crisis.

This question is confusing. I don't know what it is talking about, and I don't know who the rest of the population is. All population members that know what this means, holla.

    4. Anthony Wu

You learn chemistry, as promised. It isn't like he's violating a contract. Plus, he's interesting to talk to.

I didn't think that a hard-as-shit class was a reason to dislike the teacher of that class. If I gave you a hard-as-shit book, would you dislike me?

Also, if a procreating C makes you dislike people, you need to reorder your priorities. I don't like people if they give me any procreating letter, A or otherwise.

    5. Anthony Wu

....you know the answer. though i'd rather keep the rest of the population guessing with that 50% chance...

A solution for apathy? Talk with me sometime. It's individualized (I know that's a sucky answer after a month of not answerin') for every situation, and often every single party involved is at fault. For following up the prior question, I guess in Childhood we teach people too much about work. If educators had more pay, that's a partial solution, as more talent would make it into elementary schools. The whole unification thing is ridiculous.

Ya know NCSSM's big problem is that they don't know the level of education many people have as a background, but that's easy to overcome with the teachers here. Same with elementary school then. DON'T unify education. People in the slums should learn a lot more about ethics than people in a reasonably well-off suburban setting, and people in the city should learn communication skills and have more group projects.

I don't have a good solution. I'm spouting. Apathy isn't really an American plague, it's everywhere, it just hits at different times for different reasons.

Photography. For reasons unrelated with photography. Photography requires you to capture a moment at just the right time, especially in nature. Therefore, I'd get crazy awesome reflexes! Plus, it can come up in conversation less awkwardly than the other two talents.

I'm cheating by answering with a Series, but the entire Shadow Children Series has influenced me incredibly.

Though the Bartimaeus Trilogy held that honor for a long time, prior to high school. And yes, it's another series.

      I like series.

      I am interested in everything.

That's the simple answer, but I'll try to answer you as best as I am able to. Mathematics is useful for modeling almost anything in the world, and learning it is my passion because of how easily it can be applied as you move into complex branches of statistics and calculus. I don't like any pure mathematics, for exactly the opposite reason: they aren't applicable. Computer science is the path to communication for the future. No science is without the use of computers, and now few humanities courses are without them. A website can cohesively bind a community and create active communication with them, and while using website templates is an easy way out, learning to make your own makes your options far wider. Biology, the study of life, is the most humanities-similar science. Also, when considering all forms of systems biological sciences, you can go anywhere from environmental engineering to base pathology. It is amazing how vast the fields are, and no matter what level you work at, you are helping some form of life directly, or understanding some form of life better. The more we know, the more problems we can solve, hence the engineering aspects. Chemistry, I believe, was a subject I already loved as a prerequisite to understanding all the binding sites, immunological responses, and endocrine signals covered in biology. Then I hit Herndon. It's like getting a multiplier in a shooter game. It was, in short, awesome. Physics I dislike because I'm bad at conceptualizing it, but the science itself is also integral to any science. If you can describe particle behavior and generalize for larger objects, much of daily life makes sense. Physics questions are also what children naturally want to know when they are small: what makes clouds, what makes rainbows, how does this work, why does that move this way...we've been physics nerds since birth, but it's been squashed out by lack of answers early on, and fear of mathematics. Humanities are quite wide as well, and I'm interested because knowing how to write papers and research without hard facts is a skill no other branch of learning develops as well as history and english. Of course, I wish I could be a linguistic expert too, just because conversing in multiple languages is cool, and I play piano because of my love for classical pieces, as well as Japanese compositions that are simpler, but more modern and more associable. I'm interested in all forms of artistic expression, particularly photography, which captures a moment, sketchbook art, which trains human perception, and poetry, which is I believe an arrangement of words that has a strong impact on the listener. What else would make me a nerd? I'm extremely dedicated to tennis as well, again because of the benefits I can reap from the sport. I would love to learn how to tailor clothes, if not for my abysmal common sense, and in a poorer environment, if I had the opportunity to learn just one trade, I'd go after it with about as much vigor as I go after things in school.

I mean, EVERYTHING is useful, applicable, and can be mentioned in casual conversation as an augmentation to knowledge. The more I know, the more I can help my friends, and (less importantly) the world. I will also be able to work at the forefront of what modern technology can do, which is very exciting.

I believe the only reason people are not nerds is because they are secretly afraid of failure, or because they are truly dedicated to one branch of learning that is associated with non-nerds, such as humanities or sports. Nobody dislikes learning as a child, but our education system seems to beat out that love for learning and turn it into fear, which eventually turns into that American plague called Apathy.

Japan. They took over China once already, they can do it again. And Korea. Plus, as a bonus, those countries all import Iron, and my fist would provide more than enough for them.

I would rather you be non-anonymous.

But, I'd say magnetic head. Or else drinking water would have me goin' all "I'm melting, I'm melting!"

Sorry for the late reply! I dislike formspring's lack of notifications.

1st trimester was lulzy, 2nd trimester was OMG, 3rd trimester is nice. I'm trying to get into student gov't, several people have told me I should debate (though I always lost arguments with you and Kelsey...) and I'm at a loss for summer programs...is that Boston seminar you're headed too still open? Oh, and FB this, so I actually GET it sometime soon.
