You are lying to yourself if you think you're not answering some of these questions rudely. I understand that you're getting tons of annoying questions and probably offensive ones too, but don't lie and act like we're just misinterpreting your answers.

hey guess what, i never lied about that. i never said i wasn't rude, but that kind of shit is super subjective anyway, so don't put words in my fucking mouth. i was being completely honest when i said you're forcing your own interpretation on my tone and delivery when you read any answer i write on this stupid website. so you can probably stop being an asshole now. if you want. it's up to you. ;o

What do you think is the most important part in drawing/art, besides enjoy doing it? (the quality, colours, anatomy, shadings, etc).

no one gives a fuck about shading. if you're not good at it, fucking leave it out.
quality is best out of the list you gave me, just because it can mean anything.

Ask why I had done that

    10. Max Gilardi

If there's an object you need to draw that's tricky, do you look at real-life photos or other drawings of it to help you?

Honestly? I choose to abdicate drawing it. It doesn't help me improve as an artist in the long run but it sure does make things easier

Do you welcome criticism on your animations? If so, do you ignore the negative kind?

Yeah, I think we feed a lot of misinformation to young artists about criticism. We're taught that we have to utilize critiques and apply it to what we do. I refrain from doing that though, because I'M the artist, and the audience isn't. Shouldn't the artist know better than the audience what's the best way to make art? What makes them the final authority? What about the critiques that directly contradict other critiques? Fuck all the noise, I say.

Don't get me wrong, if Joel Cohen calls me up and starts telling me what to do, I'm going to follow his instructions blindly. He knows what he's doing and I respect him and the stuff he makes his great.

So yeah, i just think letting the public influence what you do is something that compromises a singular vision. Your art becomes less personal, and not as good.

An artist SHOULD know how to handle hate and negativity towards themselves and what they do and not let it discourage them or hurt their feelings, albeit hate for the sake of hate or criticism that's intended to be genuinely constructive. I feel like I do that pretty well. I haven't quit yet, have I? So I'm still undefeated in the sense that I haven't let the trolls win.

So here's my advice to young artists (not that I'm qualified to give any): When someone gives you a critique, smile, nod, and say "Yeah, maybe". Don't do it facetiously, be genuinely polite. BUT REMEMBER: YOU are the artist, not them.
