      I saw the first two episodes and wasn't really enthused, so I stopped. I heard it was just okay.

      It was supposed to get 26 episodes. It didn't. You do the math there. XD Explains a lot of the rushed/weird pacing near the end, don't it? ^^;

      I haven't seen three out of those four, but I'm interested in checking out Game of Thrones. As for Breaking Bad, I want to marry it and have its babies. It is the best show.

      Disappearance was really great material, but the pacing was self-indulgent and abysmal, sorta like The Hobbit. I enjoyed DoHS a lot, but would I watch it again? Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh maybe not, no.

      I wouldn't change anything about FMA Brotherhood, except maybe to make the first arc of episodes match the manga exactly, since they were so set on doing that in the later arcs. (Commit, dammit! Those first rushed bunches of episodes are really quite awful.) Aside from that, I can't think about "adapting" the material because that's not the goal of that series, the goal of that series was to 100% replicate the manga, so I might only change it to do that more in those first episodes, revisited material or not.

      Other changes...why would I make them? The 2003 anime already made terrific changes and is a better work of adaptation than I could have mustered.

      I dunno man, I just love accents in general. *w*

      Production design and performances were the strongest things, and pacing/execution were the weakest.

      I have not, but I may give it a chance. I like shojo, I like cute, and Daichi's okay when he's doing material that suits him.

      Snow White is a character on her own. Her performance can be dubbed in by anybody, from any language, and it's still Snow White. It can be a great or crappy Snow White, but any voice applied to the drawing can become the character.

      Judy Garland is Dorothy. Her voice and her body are one and she is that character to the extent where if you have someone speak words over her mouth, not just in a different language, but even if it was the exact same script in English, it tarnishes the performance and becomes an experience incongruous with what was filmed. The character doesn't exist without Judy Garland, and her voice is the only one that matches the original intent of the film.

      Interpretative. You shouldn't adapt that manga straight. It's got some great ideas, but they're kinda thrown together in a big messy pile you have to dissect. So, not the 100% faithful "Ultimate/Brotherhood" treatment.

      Watch stuff. o3o d Or play games, or read. Mostly: watch stuff.

      Haven't seen enough to really form an opinion. I understand Zero is way better than F/SN

      I wouldn't react at all. Why throw oil on the fire and give them the attention that they want. So many TGWTG producers react to hate mail or messages and I'm like "Why? It makes you look insecure and gives the douchebags what they want." I rarely address that sorta thing. If you've written something about me on the internet and it's easy to run across, I've probably read it. But I may not ever say anything about it unless I feel there's merit to doing so.

      I never got around to hearing it when sampling the Penguindrum dub, but I can't imagine I'll love it. At best I might find it okay. The direction/scripting in that dub is so bad, it can't possibly be a "good" performance, though. At best, serviceable. God, that dub was a piece of shit.

    18. Hope Chapman

      Depends on the dub. Most of them are pretty "eeeeeeh" but I enjoyed what I heard of the dub for Nana (that's Vancouver, right?) and Black Lagoon and Death Note are undeniably GREAT dubs, just...they're so damn good they do make me want more Vancouver dubs.

      Yeah, I always liked Starfire and Beast Boy because of Teen Titans. Young Justice.........eh. The weakest part of that show was the character writing, so I learned about new heroes through it but didn't necessarily get attached to any of them, apart from maybe Kid Flash who had EASILY the best standalone episode of the series to his name.
