I have had success in both areas but I think that its easier to meet someone online than in the club/bar scene. Neither medium is better than the other, although I would advise strongly against dating someone that frequents the bar you go to on a regular basis.

Well there I guess you have my answer... online is about checks and balances to an extent but NOTHING is final until you meet someone in person and in a bar is not necessarily the place where much happens beyond hookups and finding random punk rockers to play Sid & Nancy with...

Unless of course it's New Years Eve maybe.
