Probably failing. At least if you never try something you never get invested in it thus you completely avoid the failure. The pain of failing at something you put everything into is pretty high on the list of things that hurt you in your life.

I like manga but I haven't read a single volume in years. I'm not big on individual Comic Books anymore, I prefer Graphic novels, recently I've been heavy into Batman Graphic novels, I'm currently working up to the Death of Bruce Wayne before starting on the Green Lantern Darkest Night series. But I'll always like me some Anime.
