When I designed The Ray, we went through eight passes at the costume. we tried multiple designs and color schemes that were much more elaborate and complicated but deemed this to be the way to go. I'm not worried about the color scheme because there is a very particular element of his powers, which you'll see in issue two, which negates the concerns about the perceived similarity to Captain Atom. I've heard people compare the look to everyone from Nova, to the Protector, to Quasar (Which I had to look up because I didn't know they changed his costume again) That I don't see. Other than the glowing elements there really isn't a similarity. I didn't know what Captain Atom was going to look like, and if D.C.isn't concerned, neither am I.
