To be perfectly honest, I've heard of it but never really seen the series. The series started when I was already too old to force myself to wake up Saturday mornings to watch TV blocks (and even then, all my regular shows weren't being shown anymore so I had no need to). My first impression when I saw some images and Youtube clips a couple of years back was...it was a sorta blatant ripoff of Sailor Moon mixed with Disney + WITCH (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/W.I.T.C.H.), another Italian magical girls series, which I highly recommend. Well, the first few stories because nowadays you can tell the passion's gone out of that too :( The style itself isn't very attractive to me either. It just looks...very pointy, if you know what I mean. The colors don't help either. I might one of these days watch an episode just to be fair, but the series itself isn't appealing to me. I know very little about it too, so there you have it. :S
But probably little girls/teenagers/women like it just as much as I like Sailor Moon :) Different tastes for different people. I did hear rumors when it first came out that the Italian version wasn't as cringing as the American version though, so that might be another factor. -
Superficially it's the merchandise, colors and pretty designs!~ XD (merchandise including wands, dolls, anime books, etc.)
Once you go deeper into it --depending on which series/show however-- I think the genre is appealing because of the character development involved and also at least in America the fact that almost every show has a young female protagonist doing stuff that many American cartoons with female characters do not. Like saving the world! This is also why shows like Rainbow Brite, She-Ra and JEM are still loved :D (You could even say they're like the American take of magical girls; the idea of secret identity/singer and a normal person has been done in anime like Full Moon wo Sagashite and Fancy Lala while...well, I don't know any show similar in tone to RB). I mean Magic Knight Rayearth has elements that even normal magical girl series don't have -- robots and swords!! <3
I think it's also the story and settings -- I mean look at Utena and Sailor Moon. They have deep themes, gorgeous landscapes at times and fantastic music ;D The fact that Sera Myu (the SM musical) lasted from 1993 to 2002-ish should tell you as much the endearing influence that SM has have.
All in all, the ability of a genre to be able to adapt to outside aspects --and to do it well, mind you-- is more than impressive. This is why the genre has probably survived since the age of Maho Tsukai Sally ;) and will probably do so in some shape or form (even if some of us don't like it, haha) -
I LOVE anime 8D Not as much as my 6yr old self maybe since now my love is split between American comics and Japanese comics xD Plus most anime nowadays seem to be blah...but I still love the ones I grew up with and some new ones like Galaxy Railways.
Probably all of my fave anime (too long a list!) have inspired me but the ones that have inspired me the most off the top of my head are Sailor Moon (naturally? xD), Urusei Yatsura, Tenchi Muyo, Nurse Angel Ririka SOS, Oh! My Goddess!, Magic Knight Rayearth and Card Captor Sakura. -
Oooh, lots of things. Lately for example, I've getting super inspired by religion and psychology, as well as the "human" question. That's story-wise -- art-wise, hmm, seeing new art on DA inspires me lately. Looking back on my old art + old anime mags from the 90s and early 00s, also.

Hmm, I guess my super duper special mayo, butter & cheese sandwich? Don't worry, you can blergh over that (I used blergh as a verb, haha. I fail.)
I would like to know how blood sausages are made though ;9 *YUM* -
Capoeira (martial arts + dance, from Brazil). The only good thing that came out of the Catwoman movie.

Well, you never knew what you were going to get now, were you? ;) Is it a chocolate filled with chocolate or is it a chocolate filled with caramel? Is it a caramel piece with caramel or a caramel piece filled with chocolate? So many surprises!
Either way, they're all going into my stomach. >:D -
Why yes indeedy you will! :D
As a matter of fact, I'm fleshing out parts of the Demiurge story in my Honors Sci-Fi and Fantasy Seminar <3 It's being more influenced by Gnosticism though, rather than by both Gnosticism and Buddhism as I had told you before xD;;
At the end of the year, I might just send you some stuff for you to look at 8D -
Actually I've been thinking about this for a while. I'm assuming you mean if something happened to me now (if not, sorry!)--
If I become deaf, I can still talk but obviously I wouldn't know just how high or low my voice will be. I won't be able to hear music, voices, animals' calls, etc. I'll have to learn sign language in order to be able to manage, which might or might not be difficult depending at what age I would go deaf. The human brain doesn't learn things as easily when the person is an adult, compared to a teenager or young adult. I can still see.
If I become blind, I can still hear, naturally. I won't be able to draw nor write, but if I had the help, I can still tell people to draw or write my stories for me. I'll have to try and learn to read Braille in order to read books.
Being deaf or blind is tough. Super tough. My best friend has a glass eye and his other eye isn't as strong as it used to be. But he can still see.
I don't think I would 'prefer' being deaf or blind. I think as long as I'm alive, I might be ok. I'll be depressed for a while naturally, but alive. Of course I still worry about what would I do if something were to happen to me. -
Oooh, another toughie. Not sure, since almost all of the comments I received so far are pretty neat (yes, I count CC, random, etc. And this question! xD)
Well, there was one that in hindsight isn't really lame either, but it still took me by surprise at the time. It had to do with my comic pages and the quality of them. Don't want to say much because the person was trying to help in their own way, but their word choice was...off-putting to me initially =\ :< -
The only part of math that made me smile. Obtuse!

:D
She is Kimberly, a character from my webcomic Legendary Beings Ara & Celi (actually linked in my profile). She belongs to Miyara/Eternal Ara. However she has yet to make an appearance, but I use her anyway because I just love her <3 She's actually a real horse but she takes the 'My Little Pony' form for...a spoilery reason >:D (maybe) -
Absolutely. I think in some shape and form they are here with us. Some people have said that they've been visited by angels and actually I uh kinda believe it. But the skeptic in me says it's not possible. So contradictory of me, right?! I just said I believe in them. xD I blame secularity. xDD (Partially kidding) I think of them like being there and just not interfering, letting us choose for ourselves the right decision. Then they'll be our little voice in the back of the head ;)
Random note: I actually would love to know more about how angels are depicted in other religions too :) -
I use Photoshop Elements 7.0 for coloring. I use Paint Shop Tool SAI when I want to achieve a soft color effect with the Water Tool, and Manga Studio for digital inking. I use GIMP but only when I want to animate something (usually DA stamps or icons).
-
Err, don't care? I'm average-looking, so nobody cares about me in the end! <3 xD;;

Wow, the funniest person I know...that's a toughie! I'm going to cheat and say for now some of my classmates from my German class. Then again, the entire German class + prof = laughing fits ahoy!
