thank you! i don't use just one action. i use a group of actions from both the TRA's (totally rad action sets) and Jesh de Rox's colorshift actions. the keys are a) nailing your exposure in camera b) using actions at lower opacities.

i have the pocket wizard plus II's BUT i'm considering switching over to radio poppers...hmmm. for flash, when it's on-camera, it's in manual mode so i have control over the power/settings. when my flash is off-camera, it's on slave mode...again, controling it's output power.

i just go over what my hard fact costs will be, then i'll decided what i want to pay myself and then give them that number. if it's a wedding, i for sure have to charge them something...if it's a shoot, i can give them a hefty discount :)

hello :) thanks so much! i use a Canon 5d mark II. For capturing shallow depth of field, it really has nothing to do with your actual camera, it's about your manual aperture settings and the lenses you are using. i would suggest renting some different lenses and playing with aperture/bracketing and you'll find the look you want :)

hi jessica! thanks for the question :) sooo, i would say i honestly put myself out there to my friends/family (who were my muses!), got a website and put up a little portfolio of my work, eventually i would get referrals. oh, and prayer ;)
hope this helps!! -
Just so i don't sound like everyone else, i didn't always know that i loved photography. There, i said it.
It kind of hit me about 7-8 years ago that i wanted to pick up a camera and just start shooting. So, since then, that's pretty much what has happened! And, after getting my first DSLR from my sweet, sweet husband, i forced my close friends to by my muses, of course they loved getting pictures out of it :) And, that is how i built my portfolio.
and the rest is history... -
my email. i know it's not a website, but unfortunately, it's like 90% of how i run business...then twitter is prob #2 :)
