((I don't think you're fully grasping the concept of "bad owners". It's not that the owners are simply ignoring the dogs, letting them do what they want. A neglected dog would not just attack someone out of the blue. No, a bad owner is someone who actively abuses their pets to the point of sparking violent tendencies within them. Teaching the animals that violence is the only answer. THAT is what being a bad owner truly is. And, going on that definition, yes, because the owners would then be guilty of animal cruelty.))

I have not forgotten about it or you, I'm just still kind of waiting to see what this promised "deal to keep formspring running" brings. They don't seem to have really said anything else yet, but it's still up running, so *shrug*. Still, keeping an eye on this place, we'll see what happens.))

((My group seems to be more or less settled in over on ask.fm.. But if formspring is actually saved, & if they fix some of the problems that frustrated users, there is a chance we might come back. Maybe. Who knows?))

((It could be a sad attempt at an April Fools joke about staying afloat. Or an ill-advised long term joke about going under. Or, of course, it could be serious. We don't know, & won't until tomorrow at the very earliest.))

((I'm not sure whether or not formspring will really stay open. However, if they have managed to find a financial backer that could not only keep the site alive, but give them the resources they need to fix the site's numerous issues, then it might be worth giving this place another shot. For the moment, I plan to just see how things go.))

((I am adjusting to a new site, but it is still very upsetting. When the announcement was made back on the 15th, it was devastating. I might have actually had a bit of a breakdown that lasted the entire weekend. Loss of appetite, trouble sleeping, & overwhelming depression. I've since recovered, but it's still sad to see this place go. I met so many wonderful people, & had so many wonderful experiences here.))

((I think there were 3 major factors that heavily influenced formspring's drop in popularity.
1. When formspring first started out, it really was pretty revolutionary. It provided people with a fun new way to connect & interact, in a format that was much different from what other sites had tried &, in my opinion, a hell of a lot better. Unfortunately, other website developers noticed this, & soon began using that formula for themselves. When combined with other features not available on formspring, those other sites stole a lot of formspring's users.

2. In early 2011 (& possibly earlier, though I could be wrong), there were numerous technical difficulties with formspring's servers. Massive lag made the site virtually unusable for hours or, in one case, even days at a time. This drove a lot of people away.

3. While we/they might not have been a majority here, formspring WAS a major hub for the homestuck roleplaying community. Unfortunately, Homestuck's slowed pace in the summer of 2011, & hiatus in the fall of the same year, caused a large portion of the fandom to simply lose patience with it. I rember seeing a lot of Homestuck rp accounts here go inactive during the hiatus, & even those that remained dwindled shortly after the end of said hiatus. It might not have been a huge hit to the site overall, but it definitely seemed to be a huge hit in the activity that I was involved/interested in.

Formspring had a good run. I truly wish it could've been saved, & I personally think that the last perspective buyer, a Russian Social Networking company, was not only a bit too hard on it, but was also favoring ask.fm, a formspring clone originating out of Latvia.))
