Hi Stacy, What was the first card/piece of stationery you created? And how long after did it take for you to sell your first piece of work?
Great question, thanks for asking:)
When I first started I was in love with those 12"x12" sheets of gorgeous scrap booking paper you see everywhere. I am not a scrapbooker, but just couldn't stop buying the paper. When I discovered Etsy, I was instantly inspired to make envelopes with my collection of scrapbook paper and because the paper was double sided, the envelopes looked lined.
I then designed simple note cards that coordinated with the paper, but not to take away from the design of the paper. My first sale occured within the first few days I had listed all of my sets on my new Etsy side, in April of 2008.
Making envelopes by hand proved to be too time consuming and not the best business model for moving forward. I then started tinkering around with all sorts of designs and now you see where I am:)
