I attempted to read the Metal Gear Solid novel, but found the clash of styles between the writer and the story to be too much. MGS has a very specific tone and... Japan-ness to it that seems like it'd be difficult to write about, but I think it can be done.

This writer, however, wasn't up to the task and thus it just kinda felt like James Bond novel with characters named after MGS characters.
