Maybe the reason why some people obsess over her is because of all of the unwarranted hate she gets, which 99% of the time is nothing but shameless misogyny. Why? Because its all based off her appearance. This is fact since she's been getting this kind of hate BEFORE SHE EVEN APPEARED IN THE SERIES.

Face it, it has absolutely nothing to do with her personality. Shes a great, strong, independent, generous and caring female character, who stands strong even after her dad turns out to be a complete asshole and her boyfriend cheats on her and HOLY SHIT despite that fact SHE STILL LIKES KORRA BECAUSE SHE KNOWS SHE DID NOTHING WRONG wow. HOW SLUTTY OF HER.

I think this only further proves how much problems people have with feminine characters. Because we subconsciously always associate femininity with weakness (and that other problem being the moment a female character appears in a series she AUTOMATICALLY REPRESENTS ALLLLL WOMEN). Korra is naturally the preferred character because she's more boyish, and theres nothing wrong with a girl being boyish, but again, only further emphasizes that being feminine is a trait that strong characters dont possess. I call bullshit on that. You know why? Because I am feminine as hell. I have friends who are feminine as hell. And I dont want the media and a bunch of misogynistic fans declare that I can't be feminine if I want to be a strong person.

You'd think people would learn by now to STOP JUDGING PEOPLE AND CHARACTERS BASED ON APPEARANCES - esp after that whole Susan Boyle fiasco. Jesus.

Dark times back then D: before Macross Frontier it was Pokémon because I was still a Pokémon editor around the time I started to watch other animes. And before Sheryl my favourite character was Itsuki Koizumi from Haruhi since I dedicated a YT username to him.
