Thanks for the question! -
Indianapolis is the most friendly city in America. A lot of cities might claim it, we just proved it. The Super Bowl shed light on what's becoming America's Boomtown of the 21st Century.

We really thought long and hard about what name would represent the brand we wanted that would stand out among hvac contractors in Indianapolis.
Everyone seems to be "LAST NAME" Heating and Air Conditioning. Or, have snowflakes and fire, red and blue.
We wanted something that would flow with the brand essence of trust that we try to build into every step of our operations. We realize that within the home, your heating and air conditioning system can be the most expensive purchase you make. Last thing you want to do is work with someone that you don't have trust in.
So, naturally, with our focus on residential properties, home stood out. Finding the right adjective took some time. But after a while, we settled on "sense". And Homesense just rolls of the tongue, right.

During the 2 years between 1/1/09 - 12/31/10 a homeowner can claim up to $1500 tax credit for purchases of "high efficiency" heating or air conditioning equipment for your primary residence. High efficiency is defined by the government as a system with a SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) of 16+ for a/c only, 15+ for heat pump only, 95+ AFUE for gas furnace, and 14+ SEER if you have a package system. (Complete defintions for tax credits are here: http://bit.ly/dxGAqi). Any credible local company should be able to walk you through the process of application.
On top of the federal credits, many states, including Indiana have tax rebates budgeted from last year's stimulus bill. We wrote about Indiana's tax rebates here. http://bit.ly/bJrU52
Hope this was helpful, and not too confusing. -
Personally, being cold is the worse thing I can imagine. So, I prepare the warm air of a furnace + space heater. Granted, it had to be combined with some sort of humidifier.
