im doing an art project on recycled art for my A level. I have decided to focus on gum and have created my own pieces just like yours. However i have a tub full of gum and some have started to grow mold.. gross! Why is this?
First, you probably aren't chewing the gum long enough. Second, you are putting a lid on the tub and not allowing the gum to dry out from all your spit. The humid environment in the tub is causing the mold growth. If you were in the same tub, you would grow mold too.
