Dear Johnstant Vigilance, Art school in the middle of the recession, shameful day job after. What next?

This is what art schools fail to teach. You will have a day job after art school, try not to let it feel shameful. If by some miracle of talent, timing and luck you happen to be respectfully paid a livable wage in your field immediately upon graduation, be grateful and humble, for you are in a privileged minority.

Dear John, I have terrible self esteem issues and wonder if people like me or not. How do I get over this?

Same here. Let me outline what has helped me:

      1. Assume they don't like you.
      2. That's it.

Before impregnating Mary, did God ask her permission? If not, did God rape Mary?

Nope. The angel, Gabriel, was sent to her from God and gave her a run-down of what was to happen. She said "let it be done to me according to what you have said." There was no violation of her rights and, essentially, she gave God, or the Holy Spirit, "permission" if you will. You can double check that in Luke 1. Good question. :]

For God so loved the world that he gave it floods, earthquakes, disease, and Christianity. Asshole.

John 10:10 "THE DEVIL has come to steal, kill, and destroy. Jesus has come that we may have life and life more abundantly."

God is not the author chaos, destruction, or religion.

What was your favorite toy as a child? Did it have a name?

Haha oh did I! I had a mechanical stuffed elephant I called "Ellie" which, for a time, was big enough for me to ride... or rather, I was small enough to. As my butt got bigger Ellie got more strained and had to be put out of her misery. Now she sits in a box in the attic where she can look out a window peacefully with the bats which occupy the same space.

so, what exactly (best way you can) would an ideal "church service" or w/e look like? specifics please

Church in the Bible was always an open forum. If you notice, whenever Jesus preached, people asked questions. Now, if I went to an average church, of course there are some exceptions, and stood up during the sermon and asked a legitimate, honest question, everyone would look at me like I was crazy, and I might even be escorted out by an "usher". The entire Body of Christ has been ordained by the Holy Spirit to be ministers of the Gospel (2 Cor. 3:1-6). Yet your average church service is characterized by only the educated Christians doing anything special. You can only be the preacher if you have a seminary degree. You can only be the worship leader if you're learned in music and the traditions of whatever church you're at. So, unless you have a theology degree or some incredible musical talent, your function as a high priest of God is limited to a little 2x2 space where you can sing quietly to yourself, maybe skim through your Bible, and write down some notes. As far as fellowship goes, your interaction with the other church members is pretty limited to between worship, communion, and the sermon. That is, unless you stay afterward. And there's no reason to stay afterward unless you already know people. And you don't know people unless you meet and build relationships with them outside of church, since you don't really have many consistent opportunities to while at church. Do you see what I'm saying? In Christ, we are ALL qualified by the Holy Spirit, not by a Bible school, yet does the Body function as though we are qualified? Not really, since we're not even really given any consistent opportunities to in your average church.

I went to a church service this past Saturday. On the way in, I was asked how I was doing about 7 times. However, their attention lasted less than 5 seconds as it was shifted to whoever was walking behind me. It seemed I was expected to smile and say "fine" like everyone else walking through. However, if I'd stopped and said, for example, "Well, I'm not so great. I'm not sure how my bills are going to get paid this month. I'm just a single mom working as hard as I can to make ends meet, but things are just not falling into place," I'm almost positive I would've gotten a response of a confused face and not much else. It was obvious that these people, while well-intentioned, didn't REALLY care about how it was doing. They were playing a part. A biblically accurate church service would be characterized by an element of family and intimacy, where I could open up about what was really going on in my life.

Why don't you respond to the Hindu miracles I have proven to you? Could it be that you are scared to admit the truth of Brahman? Scared to admit you were wrong?

No, miracles most definitely exist outside of Christianity. In Acts 16, a girl who could tell fortunes (who was demon possessed) got delivered and born again. I deleted all those questions because I've seen that and much more all before. I've seen demonic "miracles" happen right before my eyes. They definitely happen, but the truth is, it all originated in and was perverted from God's creative power. LOVE, not miracles, is what sets Christians apart.
