It's not working? Tom Brevoort hasn't tried to push this on anyone. Warren fucking Ellis wrote it, you ignoramous. In case you don't know, which obviously you don't, Warren Ellis is a pretty fucking great writer. He comes with his own fanbase, so stop making it sound like people are doing Tom a charity by reading it or something.

I know what you're talking about, even if Tom doesn't want to acknowledge the difference. Many artists strive for realism. To me, realism is pretty much about proper proportions. Humberto Ramos, for example, is not at all a realistic artist because the eyes take up half the head, the feet are impossibly huge, etc... Billy Tan, David Finch, Stuart Immonen...these guys all have pretty close to life-like proportions, a far cry from artists Humbert Ramos, Joe Madueira, or J. Scott Campbell. For me, I definitely prefer the more realistic takes on characters.

I personally HATE when people cry racism if fans don't like a black guy being cast in a while role, or vice versa. To me, I just want the actor to resemble the character. I'd be just as pissed at Carrot Top (a white guy) being cast as Superman as I would if Idris Elba (black man) was Superman. To me, neither of them look anything like Superman in the comics. I'd also be just as pissed at Erkle playing Cage as I would Keanu Reeves. It's not about being racist at all, so I definitely agree with you.

Definitely going to disagree here. Jigsaw and his ridiculously cartoonish Brooklyn accent was WAY too over the top. Lexi Alexander did an amazing job directing Green Street Hooligans, but taking such a campy route with a villain in a Punisher film was a disastrous choice.

If you like super-hero escapism, then you can check out Flash: Terminal Velocity, Invincible by Robert Kirkman, Invincible Iron Man vol. 1, or Hourman by Tom Peyer, all of which is quite good. If you like more adult themed super-heroes, check out Irredeemable, the Ultimates, Daredevil: Born Again, Daredevil: Underboss, Punisher: the Slavers, Planetary, Watchmen, or Swamp Thing (the Alan Moore run). If you're looking for non-super-hero works, maybe try the first Northlanders tpb, Lucifer, Ex Machina, or the Walking Dead. Those are just for starters.

Yeah, I'm going to agree with the individual asking the question on this one. Black Panther putting Surfer in an arm-bar is absolutely ridiculous. McDuffie was a sorely overrated writer. I'm sorry he passed and I wish him no ill will, but he was never that great of a writer, in my opinion.
