I'll be photographing you throughout the day like a second shadow so no need to worry about reportage shots. So, when it comes to poses and group photos. Well, I like simple group photos that usually takes about 15 mins for both sides depending on how organised your familes are on the day. Then as much time as you're comfortable with standing in front of the camera and taking directions. The couples who put aside an hour will find that it only feels like half an hour and they end up with a larger variety of photos. Also, I don't really pose couples but give them directions on the day. It's more like acting, such as "Go over to that tree, grab your wife and give her the biggest kiss ever!"

Nope same price but just remember, that a reportage/photojournalistic only wedding means having to sacrifice on those Artistic Shots and Group Photos. However these take time to set up and a reportage only wedding means a lot more time spent with guests rather than posing for photos. A lot of couples still choose to have a mix between Artistic/reportage and of course Group Shots.

As many as it takes to provide you with a good variety of photos, generally, the session takes about an hour and a half. On average with a family of five, I get about 5 great images of each member of the family and 5 different photos of the entire family. So 25 differently lit photos to choose from about 250 - 300 photographs. You will get all 250 - 300 photos...does that make sense? Lets put it this way, throughout the shoot I show you the photos until you're happy or just plain exhausted from all the fun.

Nikon 24 - 70mm 2.8 lens and 70 - 200 2.8 lens. I also have a 50mm 1.4 prime lens for low light photos and a Sigma wide angle lens for the funky shots...I've a bunch of back-up lenses as well just in case

Of course you do...just send an email mentioning what I just said!

I've a bag full of tricks to get people smiling and laughing naturally so you don't have to worry about the fake smiles. Some of the brides I've photographed also had the same concern but relaxed once they didn't feel like they were getting their photos taken. I chat all the time when I'm taking photos so you've no choice but to naturally respond to me. I must be saying something right as the photos would otherwise prove different. Then there's the reportage photos where I catch you having fun with friends and family without any interference. I hate forcing people to smile...I'll do anything to get a natural emotion...

Maybe I'm not in the business long enough then :) There are definitely some couples that were made for each other and some who are clearly complete opposites. So far, I don't know any couples that I've photographed to have separated so maybe I'm a lucky charm :) I did speak to one videographer who did not only video the 1st wedding of a bride but the 2nd wedding too! Now, that's what you call a repeat customer :)

I would never touch anyone during a photoshoot unless it was absolutely necessary and even then I would always ask permission. A lot of old school wedding photographers can be very bossy and demanding as they know exactly what shot they want and will do anything to get it. If a photographer is doing this a lot then you can guarantee you'll get some great posed photos rather than the riskier reportage style that requires patience and a good sense in anticipating a moment that should be captured. Are you getting married this year?

That's no problem but I get complete artistic freedom! Email me phil@giveusagoo.com and we can discuss your requirements. I'm very interested in listening to the "best band" in Ireland :)

LOADS! But I generally edit them down to 500 (half day) 650(Until Dinner) and 850 (Full Day). All of them yours to keep plus choose the ones you really like and I'll work the magic on them

There's always room to customise packages and it's also possible to pay half now, half later or choose just the DVD Package and get an album later. I really don't mind and am open to suggestions. I also enjoy a good bartering so if you've got something to swap then don't hesitate to contact me. I've had my house painted in exchange before.

I'm sorry but I'll have to stay the night before as it's a 4 hour drive to Kerry from Kildare and I'm paranoid about long journeys as anything could happen - traffic, car breakdown, getting lost....Probably best to check out some local photographers such as Roger Overall - He's brilliant!

Yeap, choose which photos you really like and I'll edit them accordingly - sepia, b&w, cross processed and the Give us a goo style are all top favourites amongst clients. Take a look at this blog post to see the differences - http://www.giveusagoo.com/blog/?p=535

Usually I take traditional poses and artistic poses on each wedding I do with a lot of photojournalistic photos in between, this helps me to create an an album that can document all angles of your day. However there are times when a couple may not want any traditional poses, to which I approach the whole day as a photojournalist.
