We have lots of problems with our lawn. Number 1 being our mole infestation. Nothing we have tried has helped to get rid of them. Number 2, we have very little actual grass in our yard--lots of clover, wild strawberries, weeds. Any suggestions?
Have you tried a castor oil based product for the moles? It needs to be applied exactly as the instructions dictate, but I understand that it works quite well. It doesn't actually kill them, but it makes your yard undesirable territory for them. We have several other types of baits and traps, but it is important to understand the behavior of moles prior to using them. They have highways (frequently used over and over) and side streets (rarely used more than once). If you tamp the ground down and notice that it is "repaired" the following day or so, this may be a highway. This would be a good spot to put the poison worms or a trap.
Your yard sounds like it may need our help. If you are in our service area, we could offer you a free estimate for what it would take to get you back on track. Please call our Lawn Maintenance department ( http://www.facebook.com/SuburbanLGMaint ) to chat with someone.
