Lol but I do post L/Light, but I do it rarely, and only if the art is beautiful enough that it makes my mind skip over the fact that it IS yaoi. XD

To be honest I'm not THAT fond of him. I just made a tumblr blog because I thought it was a unique idea. I searched through Tumblr and found nothing dedicated tho the character, so I jumped at the opportunity and made one myself.
Anyway to answer your question, I guess I like him because he adds another dimension to L's character. I'LL LEAVE IT AT THAT SO I WON'T SPOIL YOU. Unless you want me to go further with my answer. :P -
It's never been shown locally, but it has a large following anyway. The most popular cosplayers of DN on deviantart (namely the Tuxedo Team) are all from the Philippines, which I think also helped in making the series even more popular.
I like Misa mainly because of her character design. She's just so cute. <3 Also, she may be not as smart as L and Light are, but dude, make them all the same intelligence level and they're all just people who are childish and hate to lose. XD To me, what she lacks in intelligence she makes up in charm. And in the real world, sometimes charm is what makes the difference. -
I prefer the manga, but only by a little bit. I feel like the dialogues were cut short in the anime compared to the manga. Idk, maybe I'm just weird because I like reading long-winded explanations made by L about his deductions and by Light about his schemes! But I like the little extra scenes added in the anime, such as the famous footrub scene and Misa's commercial. ^_^
