Life has its ups and downs, you know? I think maybe I am better able to handle both these days. I hope so, anyway. How have you been? :)

I think it's going to change to whatever it wants to be! I'm trying to find my voice again, not sure how well it's going...

I'm not sure - I really want to because the twins are such a huge part of my life. At the same time, I'm not about to be opening them in any way to criticism. It's a toughie, and one I'm still thinking through.

Confirmation that my children will be happy and healthy. Forever. With stability and love and hope.

A second choice-good joints. I'd love to have healthy, good, revived joints again. Ones that let me provide my kids with "airplanes". I can't do those anymore, and I miss them.

If like cozy kind of names - like "From My Home to Yours" or Food Amour".

Actually, neither of those are very good are they? Ignore me :)

We are in Seattle for sure, and then a side trip (although we have not determined where yet), and then concluding in the midwest, flying out of Chicago. It's only two and half months away and we've not booked it all up yet!

I pulled a load of them. I basically thought through the reactions of how some of my colleagues would react should they have seen them. It's not banned from work, blogging, photos, FB, etc - but that's not to say people wouldn't be merciless in their teasing. Photos are still up, just listed as friends and family only, if you're on there as f+f.

I don't edit all my photos, only ones that I think have lighting that I can adjust or improve on (usually the portraits, yes). The renovation ones never get adjusted, the children playing are very rarely adjusted (and if then, only in Picasa to get the contrast ok), but the self-portraits are almost always adjusted (I'm in my mid-thirties, some improvements are necessary!) Photos in the woods or in cities are occasionally tweaked, but not every time.

Thank you! I use a Nikon D5000 with a Nikon SB-800 bounce flash, a remote, and a tripod. If I edit them (and usually I do), I either use the basic tweaks in Picasa (which you can download for free) or Adobe Lightroom, which you can hunt the web for pre-sets for and download those, often for free.

I went off self-portraits for a while, and am (to some extent) still off them. I feel a bit like the lens has been on me for a bit, and now I'm ready for it to be on something else. It may come back, although getting some time first would be good! :)

I haven't tried Neil Gaiman yet, although I keep eyeing up his Graveyard book and need to just commit and buy it. I have read all of Marian Keyes, whom I like but her books just don't stay with me - once I've read them, they whoosh out of my brain.

My account kept getting hacked. Every time I turned around, I was apparently emailing people about replica hand bags or virility treatments. It seemed easier to pull the plug than keep apologizing to everyone for spamming them!

Watching them together when they're happy. They can get on brilliantly, and watching them sing nursery rhymes and giggling together is the best thing in the world, I swear it always lifts my mood.

I keep getting stymied - I tried via newspaper columns, etc, and that led nowhere. I know I need to apply myself and send something to try to get an agent, but after work, twins, house, life in general, it really leaves little time to progress the writing. It's all an excuse, I know - I need to get on with it once and for all :)

I think I've become a lot calmer, and more accepting of choices, compromises, and the "bigger picture", if you'll excuse the crap cliché. I have boundaries now and I tell people when they've crossed them. I also have taken on board the great advice of a therapist - "What's the worst that can happen?" When I get stressed I make myself walk through that, asking that question again and again, and ultimately it helps. I also live by the rule that, if I make a choice and don't like the outcome, that's really too bad because the choice was a conscious one.

If I couldn't live here, I'd head for New Zealand, Scotland, or possibly Seattle after those choices. Strange - I seem to prefer crap climates...

Vanilla. Yes, really. With chocolate sauce, of course. Because then you can make chocolate shakes, and everyone knows you need vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce in order to make a chocolate shake, making it with chocolate is so totally not ok.

Good, actually. We asked them both a few times, and made sure they were very involved. They both said that they already thought of us as married anyway, so this was just making it formal.

We love naan breads, and they're dead easy to make. We use a variation of Anjum Anand's basic recipe, which you can find here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/naan_86626 (we usually use mustard seeds). We also make peshwari naan occasionally, such as this recipe: http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/peshwarinaan_86757 Homemade naan breads always look terrible but taste the business.
